Go and get your hair cut real low. Buy a wave cap, a good natural bristle brush, and wave hair dressing that's in a can. Everyday apply the wave hair dressing to your hair, brush your hair in the direction of the wave pattern. Do this a few times. Place the wave cap on your hair, after a few days you should have deep waves. Or you can go and get done chemically.Black and White brotha...wondering how to make hair go from straight to curly the fastest for some 360 waves?
Chi - Straightner: Curl,Flip,Straighten

It's expensive, but you can by an imitation one at Sally Beauty supply for $80, and it should come with 4 bottles you can use on your hair to protect it from getting damaged by the straightener.

  • How to get beachy, wavy hair?

Ok, I have very fine, straight hair, and a lot of it and it seems impossible for me to curl it or make it wavy. Iv tried using a revlon curling iron, but it didnt work at all. Iv also tried scrunching my hair with a bunch of different products in it and that didnt work either. My hair is about 3-4 inches past shoulder length. How do i get natural looking waves for the summer?

:DHow to get beachy, wavy hair?
Hmm first of all, I'd get hair texturizer. It gives it that beachy look in my opinion.

Also, try doing it in big braids the night before.

Using a straightening iron might help. I've done that before and i still get regular curls.

Also when you curl it, do you put bobby pins in it while it cools? How to get beachy, wavy hair?
My hair is naturally pretty straight too. Take it from me the best way to get beachy waves is to first brush your hair (putting no product on it) until all the tangles are out. Next use sunsilk waves of envy to spray in your hair and scruch it. Next use a wave enhancing mouse (like garnier fructis wonder waves) to hold your style and reduce frizz. After applying these products dry with a diffuser and you're good to go! Good luck(:
What I would do is use a straightener to curl. Sounds weird, but that is how I get waves instead of those large corkscrew curls that I really do not like. All you have to do is use it like you would use a pair of scissors to curl a ribbon. Pull it through the hair and tilt it at the end. You can look up directions on google.

How do I fix Extreme poofy Hair?

This question concerns my beautiful 9 year old daughter. I have thick straight hair and her daddy has curly hair, so she was born with a clash of both. She has it thick, long, and wavy, light brown with natural blonde streaks. The problem is when we brush it. I gets 4 times bigger. I need something I can teach her to put in her hair that will show her pretty waves flowing without kinkyness of having brushed it out....it makes me want to cut it, but it's too pretty....Help!How do I fix Extreme poofy Hair?
Oh my gosh, I used to have the same problem, too. Until my mom couldn't take it anymore (had my hair re-bonded 6 times and 1 failed attempt at hair straightening), so she consulted this hairstylist that she totally trusted and she said that my hair should be layered (if i kept my hair in one-length, it'd give me triangle-head syndrome... the layers help to thin out the hair...) and that i shouldn't comb my hair too much because that just separates the curls into one big fluffy, frizzy mess... it's much better to just run your fingers through your hair after you take a bath or use a wide-toothed comb... And those hair products that make your hair shine? They are a HUGE help, trust me on this... OH, and don't cut the hair too short, that just adds to the puff... I hope I helped...How do I fix Extreme poofy Hair?
use panteene just look 4 your color
Mousse helps, so does a light spray on gel. Try not to brush it after it has dried. If you use the products just finger comb.
ummm suave makes a spray to get out kinks in hair...this also helps with the flyaways and frizz and its super cheap..its like $1.50 for a bottle...it smells good too and it really helps..just spray some on dry hair and comb it through
    I have the same problem.....
Never use a bristle brush on her hair, use a brush with 'teeth' like they do in the hair salons..... If you are able to, blow dry it straight, make sure you blow the roots straight too, and use a light oil sheen, that helps

How do I keep my hair straight?

I live in a place where the humidity is pretty much terrible. I own a straightener (Infinity by Conair) that I normally set to about 360 degrees F. This straightener works very, very well for me, and I don't plan on changing the straightener I use. I blow dry and straighten my hair every morning, and if I keep out of the humidity, my hair will stay very nice the entire day. There's just one problem with that though. I have to ride the bus in order to get to school, so I'm in a moderately humid environment for about 40 minutes every morning, and everyyy day when I get to school my hair has become wavy again. I've started to use Weather Works Style Creme by John Frieda and It seems to have helped a lot, but my hair still looks pretty bad when I arrive at school. Is there anything that you know of that will help me keep straight hair, even through the bus ride? I could drive to school in my own car and eliminate the problem, but gas prices are a b****, so that's not an option at all.

Should I change the temperature of my straightener? Should I use some special technique when I blowdry my hair? Have you heard of any other good products that might help me out? I really don't even know where to begin with this. I haven't tried to use hairspray, because generally that just gives my hair a sticky feeling after I've been outside for a considerable amount of time. I have also tried to pull my hair up in a loose bun in hopes that it might stay straight, but when I take my hair back down again, my hair has already molded and dented to fit the hairband and it just looks worse than if I hadn't done anything.

Do you have ANY suggestions? I really need help with this. My hair wasn't cut to be worn wavy, so it doesn't look the greatest when it waves. How do I keep my hair straight?
You should go to your local salon and talk to your stylist about it. Salon products are more expensive for a reason...they work! I have wavy hair that I straighten too. This is how I do it and it stays straight humid or not. Before you blow dry your hair you have to use a good leave in conditioner. It doesn't matter that you just used conditioner in the shower. I use vital nutrients by matrix.Next divide your hair into sections, left, right, and back. Blow dry each section completly before moving on to the next. You need a good flat iron spray. I use CHI brand. Again, section your hair and straighten from the bottom layer up, using the flat iron spray. Since my hair is fairly short I also use ISO daily detail putty for some body and it makes it look kinda choppy. Then I finish the whole style off with some Aquage beyond shine, for shine. lol I know this sounds like alot but trust me, your hair will keep it's style and look fabulous!!How do I keep my hair straight?
I have very curly hair that I straighten every morning, and if there were some miracle that would keep it straight in the humidity I'd have found it by now. The only thing I would suggest would be to take your straightener with you and fix your hair once you get to school. I bought a second iron that I keep at work for the humid days here. You're right about the hairspray, too much will just make it sticky.I'm going to read the rest of your responses to see if anyone else has a great suggestion. Hopefully they will be from people with curly hair and not people with straight hair that use the straightener for a finishing touch.
i don't know if this will work for you for me it did...i have natural curly hair after my shower my hair is straight.when its dry its curly not bad when it gets hot my hair is awful so i put my hair in a pony tail it takes longer to dry. a hair dryer makes my hair dry......i hope you find a way to solve your problem...

How to get straight and silky hair?

I have REALLY thick hair, with a little wave. Whenever I straighten, It looks thick, and not silky or shiny. Please list the stuff easy to get. I have a straightner, please list all the stuff I should get, and how to do it, thanks. How to get straight and silky hair?
I have very thick curly hair and all I use is Biosilk silk drops before I use straightener (chi straightener works best). A bottle of biosilk runs $14.00- $22.00 but well worth it, makes my hair silky smooth and it stays that way even in humidity. Just use a few drops on each strand before you run the iron over it. Hope this helps you!How to get straight and silky hair?
Also, When your done with the flat iron, dont forget to clean it with rubbing alcohol, or something. Otherwise the oil from Biosilk will leave gunk on your flat iron and eventually make your hair smell bad.

Use Aveda's straightening lotion before blow drying. Also, blow dry your hair in sections and then follow up each section with a Chi Straightening Iron, straigthening each section.
you have to use panteen pro-vee smooth and sleek shampoo and conditioner.

it works great and makes my hair soft and shiney.

    then straighten it.

spritz alittle light hairspray to keep the flyaway hairs down.
Try a straightening serum. They usually work best for people that have naturally manageable hair. After you straighten it, Citre Shine finishing spray should give your hair a nice, silky look without weighing your hair down.
    go to a hair shop!!!!!
Buy Chi Quick Smooth http://www.frizzy2silky.com/shop/quick-s鈥?/a> . It's a semi-permanent solution that will straighten your hair. Also, make sure you buy Chi Silk Infusion http://www.frizzy2silky.com/shop/silk-in鈥?/a> as well. You will need to apply this to your hair before applying the Quick Smooth and they conveniently do not include even a sample of the Silk Infusion when you purchase the Quick Smooth.

Also, my oldest daughter is a Cosmetology student. She said that when you use your straightener to do it in sections starting at the nape of your neck and work your way up. It will help control the appearence of the thickness of your hair.

    Good luck!
i use bumble and bumble products.

i actually use the leave-in-conditioner and then straighten my hair......i love the results!!!! it appx 20.00???im not sure...
    Things to get:

-Pantene Treatment (2 for a $1 at dollarama!)

    -A Starightening Cream

    -A good straightener

-Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock (you can use this even if you don't have brown hair)

    What to do:

    1. Wash hair and use treatment

    2. Dry hair

    3. Straighten hair:

Section off hair (straighen in layers) starting with bottom layer and working your way up. Also apply a very small amount of shine shock to each layer before straightening.

    4. Apply more shine shock to all of your hair if you want more shine and smoothness. Be careful not to apply to much because it will start to look greasy.

Naturally straight hair going extremely wavy.?

ive always had easy hair to manage. ive never needed an iron, a simple 5 min blowout would give me the perfectly straight silky hair i like. but now my hair is going extremely wavy. i remember back when i was younger i had a couple waves, nothing like it is now, then they were gone, but now theyve come back and it looks like they wana make a statement. the thing is i dont know why or how, i saw some articles on curly hair going straight, but i didnt find anything like this. the worst part is i dont know how to style it. if i brush it out it get s frizzy, (ive never ever had frizz in my life!!) but if i dont brush it, it s all volumized, i cant find another word to describe, its not puffy, just out and all around. the only thing ive been doing differently is using the sunsilk hairapy, i dont know if that could be it. ok so i hope you guys can help. and by the way iam 23, so i dont think it could be hormones or anything dealing with age changes. or maybe... idk. k well thanks guys!!Naturally straight hair going extremely wavy.?
Might be over treated hair... Or a hormone change.... My hair got really curly and dry after my hormones went down....Naturally straight hair going extremely wavy.?
i always had naturally straight hair... i didnt have to do anything other than get up and brush it... then one morning i woke up and i swear i had an afro on my head lol. but it was REALLY curly... and i still have it. but i would LOVE to have wavy hair!!

dont brush it when it's dry (unless you've straightened it), either run ur fingers thru it in the shower, or when u get out of the shower brush it w/ a wide-toothed comb... not a brush, bcuz that can damage ur hair.

when you get out of the shower, dont dry your hair with a towel, it causes frizz!! find an old t-shirt that u never wear bcuz its too big, too little, ect.. dry your hair with that bcuz it reduces frizz.

after you've towel dried your hair, but some kind of mousse on it and scrunch it. you may have to dry it a few different times using different amounts each time until you get it how you want it. i dont recommend using garnier fructise.... and i have no idea how to spell that, but hair dressers say it's not good for your hair. i use tressemme and it works really good on my extra curly hair, so it should work good on ur wavy hair!

dont blow dry it, unless you just absolutely have to have it dry, then use the cold thing on the blow drier to dry it with, if u use warm air it makes ur hair frizzier.

you can top it off with hair spray to make it stay how you want it!!

also, if your hair tends to like fine when u fix it, but later in the day at school or work it gets frizzy.. buy a small spray bottle and put water in it and add conditioner to it and just spray it on ur hair!

    hope i helped! =]

How can I get natural looking waves?

I have flat, straight hair and I absolutely envy people with naturally wavy hair. I really haven't tried anything to get it but I don't really know how to start. So is there something that's easy and fast? How can I get natural looking waves?
I wash my hair in the evening and then either put it in a messy bun on top of my head or in a french plait. I allow it to dry over night and then mouse it in the morning. Also, curling the odd end with curling tongs helps and a diffuser is useful too. Good luck xHow can I get natural looking waves?
with damp hair and a little gel, braid hair from the top in pigtails and sleep in them in the morning run your fingers through it and put hairspray all over it.
You could try putting your hair into plaits after you wash your hair,

and take them out a few hours later

    -it would be wavy :)

Or you could put your hair in heated rollers that would make your hair look really nice, there are loads of videos on youtube that show how to make natural waves, try there?

    Good luck :)

    xxx
I have naturally curly hair myself, but I know some people wash it in the evening and then braid it while still wet and let it dry overnight in their sleep. and then just take the braids out in the morning. for more waves you can do multiple braids.
we could at night. at the time of full moon and the new moon
get a relaxer done at the salon.

You can also french braid it. The more braids, the curlier (wavier) it will be.

    here's what you can do.

with wet or damp hair, braid it or have someone braid it for you.

Leave in all day and then sleep in it. The next day use a blow dryer and make sure your hair is completely dry. Then take out the braids.

You're then left with beautiful natural looking waves.

For best results, finish off with spray or some mousse (wal*mart has a fabulous spray/gel called Got2B (it's great!)

    Good luck!!
    w/ product.
u can use ur straightner to create waves
Have you tried mousse and scrunched it up when your hands are damp?

  • How to get Angie boylen (from desperate house wives) waves?

I have naturally straight hair and I love the way Angie boylen from desperate house wives hair looks. I also liked Miley Cyrus' hair on American idol..I'm thinking about getting a body wave, but I don't know if that would be a good idea. Maybe there is something else. I've done the whole French braid thing, an scrunching my hair with gel, and rollers don't work. Any advice would be great! Thanks! How to get Angie boylen (from desperate house wives) waves?
    Hey :)

I love desperate housewives! Anyway, back to the hair.

Just after you've washed your hair, depending on the intensity of the waves plait it into 1 or more plaits (not braids). If you want curls near the top of your head do braids. If this doesn't hold then after washing your hair, and before you put it into the plaits, massage into it some curl syrum. This stuff will make sure your hair stays wavy! You can get it from any supermarket in the hair section.

This always works for me, so good luck!

    Hope I helped.

How can i make my hair...?

wavy?? but nice pretty waves?? i have straight hair and i want to get nice wavy hair with no FRIZZES i tried the braiding when my hair is damp already and it didnt work out too good at all , it was a disaster my hair was all frizzed up and poofy with curls/waviness. but please help! i want to look good for school tomorrow! if you have any other hairstyles please let me know, or any hair tricks!! im desperate lol. BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS, and i am not harsh with choosing. please provide pictures n instructions as well!! plus. i have medium dark brown straight hair and a round face if it matters. THANK YOU ALL%26lt;33How can i make my hair...?
There are a couple of options. You could get a hair crimper - but I don't know if that's the kind of look you want. For me, the braids work best if I put them in while wet and sleep on them over night, but you should try it before going to school to see if that's what you want (on a weekend?)

You could also try using a thin barrelled curling iron and loosly wrapping your hair around it, not enough so that it curls tightly, but enough to give it a slight wave.

How to put hair up in a bun or messy bun? (straight hair)?

I've tried a lot of different videos and tutorials but none of them ever seem to work. Most of them look like they use the natural curl/wave of a person's hair to help support or keep them up.

It's like every girl that wants to put her hair up has really wavy or naturally curly hair...which doesn't work for me. I have the kind of straight hair that someone with curls probably spends hours flat ironing to achieve. While it makes for easy mornings when I want to wear my hair down, it's almost impossible to get my hair to do anything, and I love updos :/

does anyone have any bun solutions for extremely straight hair? How to put hair up in a bun or messy bun? (straight hair)?
I have the same problem. Try just combing your hair through when it is damp and spray scrunching gel onto your hair. Then dry your hair upside and scrunch it constantly with your hands till dry. Don't use any brushes when drying your hair or when dry so that it keeps some texture in it. When dry, spray more scrunching spray in your hair and scrunch again. Then when you put your hair up in a messy bun it should hold extremely well. I have exactly the same hair as you, and this works every time, trust me :)How to put hair up in a bun or messy bun? (straight hair)?
1st, put you hair in a ponytail.

2nd, twist the ponytail and wrap it around the actual hair tie where the ponytail starts..

3rd, with another hair tie, tie in a few times around the twisted hair to create a bun.

if that doesnt work then what i always do is throw all of my hair up into a bun before i put it into a hair tie but i also have very long, curly hair.

    -Hope i helped!
I have the same hair as you, and this is what I do:

I make a high ponytail and mess it up a bit to make it less tight. I fold the bottom of the ponytail into the bottom and use another elastic to secure it, then pull tight. Tuck in the strands of hair that escape to make it look messier.

This look is even easier to achieve when you sleep in braids to make beachy waves. It looks very cute with a couple strands framing your face. (:
I have the same type of hair you do! :) This is what I do:

    1. Tie a loose ponytail at the nape of your neck so that your bangs are out and your hair isn't flat against your head

    2. Loosely twist the ponytail and wrap it around the hairband, securing the bun in place with another elastic.

    3. Mess up the bun by pulling on sections of hair and twisting and tucking pieces into the hairband.

The key here is LOOSELY.. A tight bun can't look messy!
Okay this is what you do ...

Do everything like you are putting your hair in a pony-tail , then on your last loop of the pony tail instead of pulling it all the way through stop half way and then leave it .

    Waa-laa !! A messy bun .
    heyaa

i just did a tutorial on youtube and it really helped me!

How does hair get so straight?

Right so I've just dropped whatever masculinity I had left and entered the world of beautiful straight hair lol. Problem is half the time it doesn't bloody work! I just wondered what the process is in treating your hair so it will stay straight. Currently I'm washing my hair as little as possible because every time I do the it won't straighten for like 2 days :( When I do, I shampoo and condition then try to straighten it when it's dry but it just waves about all over the place and there's strands of hair flying about, it's just a mess. Sometimes if I apply gel straight (no pun intended :P) afterward, it sort of keeps it down but I have to wear a motorcycle helmet most days so it just messes up again. I often see guys with perfectly combed and straight hair everyday so how do they do it?How does hair get so straight?
Yeah, the reason that your hair straightens so much better after you haven't washed it for a couple days is that you have dry hair that frizzes with heat styling products. When you left your hair natural, it was never an issue, but now that you're straightening it, you're causing serious damage to the follicles of the hair -- hence why they're not holding together in the style you want!

What you need is a great product that you can apply right after towel-drying your hair. Bedhead makes good ones, as does Bumble and Bumble. Apply on wet -- but not sopping wet -- hair, working from the tips to the roots so that it won't get too greasy.

Then blow-dry your hair. You can do this process with just your hands working through the different layers, or you can use a round bristle brush, wrapping the hair around the brush and drying through. (The second will straighten your hair more and might eliminate the straightening iron step, if you get good at it!)

Then straighten it. Make sure that all of your hair is dry -- you said you ';try to straighten it when it's dry,'; but it HAS to be for there not to be permanent hair damage! -- and work from the bottom layers, closest to the nape of your neck to the top layers.

If your hair is short and thick, you could apply gel. But I recommend using a pomade that will cut down on frizz and keep your style. Bumble and Bumble makes great ones!

And when it comes to comparing yourself to those perfectly groomed guys on the street -- don't! It sounds like you've got lovely thick hair. If you're intent on a perfect style, carry around a comb and a tiny bottle of spray hair oil.How does hair get so straight?
wash with carrot..it can make your hair very straight because i make it everdays..
After you straighten it then put hairspray on it. Or you can buy these beanie like hats that you can wear to keep you hair straight when your wearing your helmet or before you go out. I forget what they are called but i guess that a beanie would work the same.

    Hope that helps.

i have really straight hair that doesn't hold curls well with just a curling iron. what can i do to get cute curls or waves that will stay? How do i get curly or at least wavy hair?
Doing the braids will work. You can also try putting your wet hair in an old fashioned roller set...that can take a little practice since you have to roll your hair around the roller and then clip it. Another way, which is easier, is to try sponge rollers and sleep in them. Heres a picture of the pattern in which you should roll your hair...its a pretty standard way. Try finding a liquid gel to put on it before you roll it...it will give you some hold without feeling really sticky or stiff. One thing to remember when buying/using rollers is that the bigger the roller, the bigger the looser the curl-the smaller the roller, the tighter the curl. Good luck! How do i get curly or at least wavy hair?
get a perm or sleep with braids for wavy hair
dude i used to have the same problem it drove me crazy because it would take me hours to curl my hair and i hated it

so i researched how to give hair natural curls and i was surprised

so wash your hair like you normally do but do it at night before your going to bed or do it earlier if your not doing anything all evening.. the earlier the better, try not to use straitening shampoos and then when your hair is still wet put some form of gel in it, any gel works.. try getting stuff that holds curls if you feel like spending money but normal gel works

spread it evenly throughout your wet hair and comb it through

then split your hair in half, from eye to eye so you have an even split on top and bottom, then take the top half and twist it (while its wet) and keep twisting it until its in a tight bun and then wrap and elastic around it to hold it tight then do the same to the bottom half so in the end you'll have two buns on the back of your head and leave them like that over night and in the morning they will still be wet in the middle but no worries

take the bottom bun out and it will be in almost one giant curl, just split it in half then split those halves in half.. and continue doing that until you have the desired amount of curls you want.. then gently blow dry your hair like that (on a low setting) and while your drying it gradually put hairspray in to hold and once that's done do the same with the top

it takes up about 10 - 20 minutes of your time rather then spending hours of frustrating i love it!!
ohhh deffinetly use aussie sprunch spray or tresseme flawless curls mouse becuase they really stay good and you put it in when your hair is damp the you just dry it and it alo prevents it from being frizzy or i would try perms or i would do is go to bed with your hair wet and in curlers then the next morning they might be really pretty or really ugly and if they are ugly then just use the curler then put in hairspary that really works for my hair

  • How to CURL my hair!! NOT wave it!! thxx.?

Okay, so I have thin, straight hair and it's pretty long and layered. I want to curl my hair and I want the curls to be kind of tight. Now I have tried EVERYTHING to curl my hair with!! I tried the old grandma foam curlers, I tried a 1-inch curling barrel, I even bought perm rods (curlers used for perms) without the perm solution because I know the solution is very damaging. I asked a stylist if that would work, and she said it would. Know, when I curl my hair with the perm rods or the foam curlers I don't get nice tight curls, I get the ';Goldie Locks'; type of curls. And if I try to seperate the Goldie Locks looking curls, the curl just falls apart and becomes a big, messy, ugly wave. Now, I'm guessing that I must be curling my hair wrong or something. Please HELP ME with how to curl my hair!!! And any suggestions you may have as well, or something that works for you. Thank you SOO SOOOO much!! I'll appreciate it greatly!!!How to CURL my hair!! She will also tell you what type of setting lotion to use and also give you advice on size and type of hair rollers to use to acheive the look that you wish to receive.

I would normally advise the use of plastic mesh salon rollers or magnetic rollersHow to CURL my hair!! NOT wave it!! thxx.?
    hot curlers
If a curling rod that size doesn't curl it then you need a body perm. It's the only thing that will keep the curl in unfortunately. A body perm is mild and if given correctly will not ruin your hair........

    A professional hair dresser
Use hairspray before and let it dry, then curl your hair on the OUTSIDE of a large barrel curling iron. This makes those looser curls. Then, don't comb them out and hairspray again. You should be able to do it with a bit of practice. This is how I wore my hair to winter formal!
just experiment with it, use different curling irons, hair sprays, and if you cant get these to work, go ask a hairstylist.
You can do as beach_babe suggested and use hair spray or a spray gel and the outside of a 3/4'; or 1'; barrel curling iron. Also another suggestion... if you are familiar with using a flat iron, you can get those curls with a flat iron. It takes a few practice trys. Whatever you do, don't do it for the first time right before an important event. Always do a practice run or two.

Best product for frizz... I have straight hair.?

I have naturally straight hair, with just a little bit of wave... I usually just blow dry, but sometimes use a straightening iron. My hair gets so frizzy that I have to just pull it back into a pony tail. I am so jealous of all the girls at my college who have perfectly straight hair, with no fly aways or frizz. How can I get my hair to do that? Best product for frizz... I have straight hair.?

i get the same problem. after i get out of the shower i use a product called ';chi'; that stops breakage when blowdrying or straightening. With less breakage it should improve the amount of fly aways. also after i do my hair i spray lightly around my enitre head and then brush through. this helps keep my hair straight and without wave.

    goodluck :) i hope i helped you

How to keep straightened hair straight?

I have thin, fine hair that is too short to keep the natural wavy/curl it has. It's to my shoulders, with a choppy layer to it. I straighten it, and it looks great, but throughout the day, it starts to curl up at the shoulders an just get a general wave. How do I stop this? Thanks. :DHow to keep straightened hair straight?
Try using a dehumidifier spray after you straighten your hair. It should provide a protective layer from moisture, that generally causes it to frizz or curl up.

    STRAIGHTENING MY HAIR!?

I have problems making my hair straight. I have natural waves, and my hair tends to be frizzy. I do get it trimmed and I use a very moisturizing conditioner to keep it together. Also, I use some after wash treatments to make it look piecey. However, it seems that no matter how I straighten it, either with a blowdryer, or a flat iron, it does not look sleek like my friends'! Instead, it looks like puffy straight hair and it gets greasy ten times faster if I use the flat iron. I want to know what to use to make it sleek, shiny, and straight without getting a perm, having to use ten thousand products, and having to spend hours to make it look good. Anybody, help me please!STRAIGHTENING MY HAIR!?
Well since no one else brought this up... I think your problem might POSSIBLY (not totally sure)be your ';very moisturizing conditioner.'; You should switch to a conditioner made for oily hair.

With heat, water is taken out of your hair, leaving more power for the conditioner on your hair (since water makes it more diluted). that might be why it gets 10x greasy

get the hair products esp. for oily hair. I wouldn't use dishwashing soap like the other answer because that completely strips your hair of oils, and your hair produces oils naturally, so if there is suddenly no oil it will produce even more oil to compensate.

ALSO your hair is puffy because there is too much volume. that might also be because of your conditioner.STRAIGHTENING MY HAIR!?
    go to a pro:)
go to a professional hairstylist! they have plenty of tips. you could also get some hair product...(and u dont have to have 10,000 different stuff)... i have frizzy hair so i use FrizzEase by ...crap i forgot but look it up or go to like yout local beauty shop! hope this helps!
Some straighteners have oil on them that make your hair oily. And make sure your hair is completely dry before you straighten or do anything. When your straightner isn't that high, and you iron your hair, your hair would become frizzy because your rubbing the plate irons together. Make sure it's hot enough.
you could go to your local shoppers drug mart and ask them if they have anything for your hair condition or there are these types of products that I have used but I cant remember the name!
I am as white as it gets and my hair is worse than a black persons.

I straighten mine with either a InStyler or the Maxi/MiniStraights.

I can get my AFRO straight in about 20 minutes. I use regulare shampp and conditioner, but when i get out of the shower i put in leave in conditioner.

I also BRUSH my hair while i'm IN the shower...
i have the same exact problem.

well, you HAVE to get it trimed.

    straitening your hair gives you

    spilt ends which makes your

    hair extremly frizzy. once you

get it cut, take a shower and

    instead of using shampoo, use

danw dish soap. only do this

once. this will clean out your

hair and make it less greasy.

then put a hot oil treatment in

your hair. that should help ALOT.
oh my gosh i feel your pain. lol i have pretty much the same type of hair. i actually find it easier to use a curling iron to straighten my hair than a flat iron. heres what i do: wash%26amp;condition hair every other day, and LET IT AIR DRY!!! hair dryers only make it more frizzy and fluffy. then, as many times a week as you need to, curl your hair in small pieces probably 3 inches across all over after brushing it out. if you keep moving the curler down and not twisting, it will end up straight with a slight curl upwards at the ends. if you have bangs, though, a flat iron works better. tip: when straightening (with the curling iron) do the under layers of hair first, then the top. sorry its kind of long. good luck! :)
Okay. If you are serious about your hair you'll listen to me. Shampoo it with something claryfying and CONDITION! put in ';its a ten'; styling product... any beauty supply store. and then blowdry it using a flat brush on the cool setting. Spritz some glossing spray and then straingen it

  • I want an afro but I have straight hair. How can I get an afro?

I have straight/wavy hair. It is mostly straight but has a wave to it but I have always wanted an afro. Afro's are rare and I think it would be really cool to have one.

I go to a private school and we have a strict dress code so I'm not allowed to look the way I want. I have always told myself that when I grow up, I will have a beard and either dreadlocks or an afro. I always just settled for dreadlocks because I don't know if it would be possible for me to get an afro. I'd want a really long beard, like Santa Claus, and really long dreadlocks. I know that may sound a little unusual, but it is the way I want to look. Also though I want dreadlocks, I'd prefer an afro. At my school, we aren't allowed to have dreadlocks but I'm pretty sure people can have afro's because a few people have them so I could start now.

But can't I get some of that stuff and put it on my hair so that I could have an afro? Do you know what it is called? I heard of this stuff that I would rub on my hair and wash it out and them have an afro. Do you know what it is called and would it be permanent? Would the hair grow out of my scalp as an afro too or would I have to keep using it? And if the stuff wouldn't work, is there anyway possible that I with straight/wavy hair would be able to get an afro?I want an afro but I have straight hair. How can I get an afro?
your prob gonna need a perm or texturizerI want an afro but I have straight hair. How can I get an afro?
no school legaly can prevent dreads if you simply tell them its a religios expression that sure dont mean you must be rasta since dreads are a part of every religion (almost) if cristian the nazarene vow is your key to dreadies (same with jews) muslim rasta hindu buddhist it dont matter even if athiest your spirutual belief in being a more natural human is grounds for growing dreads
