Go and get your hair cut real low. Buy a wave cap, a good natural bristle brush, and wave hair dressing that's in a can. Everyday apply the wave hair dressing to your hair, brush your hair in the direction of the wave pattern. Do this a few times. Place the wave cap on your hair, after a few days you should have deep waves. Or you can go and get done chemically.Black and White brotha...wondering how to make hair go from straight to curly the fastest for some 360 waves?
Chi - Straightner: Curl,Flip,Straighten

It's expensive, but you can by an imitation one at Sally Beauty supply for $80, and it should come with 4 bottles you can use on your hair to protect it from getting damaged by the straightener.

  • How to get beachy, wavy hair?

Ok, I have very fine, straight hair, and a lot of it and it seems impossible for me to curl it or make it wavy. Iv tried using a revlon curling iron, but it didnt work at all. Iv also tried scrunching my hair with a bunch of different products in it and that didnt work either. My hair is about 3-4 inches past shoulder length. How do i get natural looking waves for the summer?

:DHow to get beachy, wavy hair?
Hmm first of all, I'd get hair texturizer. It gives it that beachy look in my opinion.

Also, try doing it in big braids the night before.

Using a straightening iron might help. I've done that before and i still get regular curls.

Also when you curl it, do you put bobby pins in it while it cools? How to get beachy, wavy hair?
My hair is naturally pretty straight too. Take it from me the best way to get beachy waves is to first brush your hair (putting no product on it) until all the tangles are out. Next use sunsilk waves of envy to spray in your hair and scruch it. Next use a wave enhancing mouse (like garnier fructis wonder waves) to hold your style and reduce frizz. After applying these products dry with a diffuser and you're good to go! Good luck(:
What I would do is use a straightener to curl. Sounds weird, but that is how I get waves instead of those large corkscrew curls that I really do not like. All you have to do is use it like you would use a pair of scissors to curl a ribbon. Pull it through the hair and tilt it at the end. You can look up directions on google.

How do I fix Extreme poofy Hair?

This question concerns my beautiful 9 year old daughter. I have thick straight hair and her daddy has curly hair, so she was born with a clash of both. She has it thick, long, and wavy, light brown with natural blonde streaks. The problem is when we brush it. I gets 4 times bigger. I need something I can teach her to put in her hair that will show her pretty waves flowing without kinkyness of having brushed it out....it makes me want to cut it, but it's too pretty....Help!How do I fix Extreme poofy Hair?
Oh my gosh, I used to have the same problem, too. Until my mom couldn't take it anymore (had my hair re-bonded 6 times and 1 failed attempt at hair straightening), so she consulted this hairstylist that she totally trusted and she said that my hair should be layered (if i kept my hair in one-length, it'd give me triangle-head syndrome... the layers help to thin out the hair...) and that i shouldn't comb my hair too much because that just separates the curls into one big fluffy, frizzy mess... it's much better to just run your fingers through your hair after you take a bath or use a wide-toothed comb... And those hair products that make your hair shine? They are a HUGE help, trust me on this... OH, and don't cut the hair too short, that just adds to the puff... I hope I helped...How do I fix Extreme poofy Hair?
use panteene just look 4 your color
Mousse helps, so does a light spray on gel. Try not to brush it after it has dried. If you use the products just finger comb.
ummm suave makes a spray to get out kinks in hair...this also helps with the flyaways and frizz and its super cheap..its like $1.50 for a bottle...it smells good too and it really helps..just spray some on dry hair and comb it through
    I have the same problem.....
Never use a bristle brush on her hair, use a brush with 'teeth' like they do in the hair salons..... If you are able to, blow dry it straight, make sure you blow the roots straight too, and use a light oil sheen, that helps

How do I keep my hair straight?

I live in a place where the humidity is pretty much terrible. I own a straightener (Infinity by Conair) that I normally set to about 360 degrees F. This straightener works very, very well for me, and I don't plan on changing the straightener I use. I blow dry and straighten my hair every morning, and if I keep out of the humidity, my hair will stay very nice the entire day. There's just one problem with that though. I have to ride the bus in order to get to school, so I'm in a moderately humid environment for about 40 minutes every morning, and everyyy day when I get to school my hair has become wavy again. I've started to use Weather Works Style Creme by John Frieda and It seems to have helped a lot, but my hair still looks pretty bad when I arrive at school. Is there anything that you know of that will help me keep straight hair, even through the bus ride? I could drive to school in my own car and eliminate the problem, but gas prices are a b****, so that's not an option at all.

Should I change the temperature of my straightener? Should I use some special technique when I blowdry my hair? Have you heard of any other good products that might help me out? I really don't even know where to begin with this. I haven't tried to use hairspray, because generally that just gives my hair a sticky feeling after I've been outside for a considerable amount of time. I have also tried to pull my hair up in a loose bun in hopes that it might stay straight, but when I take my hair back down again, my hair has already molded and dented to fit the hairband and it just looks worse than if I hadn't done anything.

Do you have ANY suggestions? I really need help with this. My hair wasn't cut to be worn wavy, so it doesn't look the greatest when it waves. How do I keep my hair straight?
You should go to your local salon and talk to your stylist about it. Salon products are more expensive for a reason...they work! I have wavy hair that I straighten too. This is how I do it and it stays straight humid or not. Before you blow dry your hair you have to use a good leave in conditioner. It doesn't matter that you just used conditioner in the shower. I use vital nutrients by matrix.Next divide your hair into sections, left, right, and back. Blow dry each section completly before moving on to the next. You need a good flat iron spray. I use CHI brand. Again, section your hair and straighten from the bottom layer up, using the flat iron spray. Since my hair is fairly short I also use ISO daily detail putty for some body and it makes it look kinda choppy. Then I finish the whole style off with some Aquage beyond shine, for shine. lol I know this sounds like alot but trust me, your hair will keep it's style and look fabulous!!How do I keep my hair straight?
I have very curly hair that I straighten every morning, and if there were some miracle that would keep it straight in the humidity I'd have found it by now. The only thing I would suggest would be to take your straightener with you and fix your hair once you get to school. I bought a second iron that I keep at work for the humid days here. You're right about the hairspray, too much will just make it sticky.I'm going to read the rest of your responses to see if anyone else has a great suggestion. Hopefully they will be from people with curly hair and not people with straight hair that use the straightener for a finishing touch.
i don't know if this will work for you for me it did...i have natural curly hair after my shower my hair is straight.when its dry its curly not bad when it gets hot my hair is awful so i put my hair in a pony tail it takes longer to dry. a hair dryer makes my hair dry......i hope you find a way to solve your problem...

How to get straight and silky hair?

I have REALLY thick hair, with a little wave. Whenever I straighten, It looks thick, and not silky or shiny. Please list the stuff easy to get. I have a straightner, please list all the stuff I should get, and how to do it, thanks. How to get straight and silky hair?
I have very thick curly hair and all I use is Biosilk silk drops before I use straightener (chi straightener works best). A bottle of biosilk runs $14.00- $22.00 but well worth it, makes my hair silky smooth and it stays that way even in humidity. Just use a few drops on each strand before you run the iron over it. Hope this helps you!How to get straight and silky hair?
Also, When your done with the flat iron, dont forget to clean it with rubbing alcohol, or something. Otherwise the oil from Biosilk will leave gunk on your flat iron and eventually make your hair smell bad.

Use Aveda's straightening lotion before blow drying. Also, blow dry your hair in sections and then follow up each section with a Chi Straightening Iron, straigthening each section.
you have to use panteen pro-vee smooth and sleek shampoo and conditioner.

it works great and makes my hair soft and shiney.

    then straighten it.

spritz alittle light hairspray to keep the flyaway hairs down.
Try a straightening serum. They usually work best for people that have naturally manageable hair. After you straighten it, Citre Shine finishing spray should give your hair a nice, silky look without weighing your hair down.
    go to a hair shop!!!!!
Buy Chi Quick Smooth http://www.frizzy2silky.com/shop/quick-s鈥?/a> . It's a semi-permanent solution that will straighten your hair. Also, make sure you buy Chi Silk Infusion http://www.frizzy2silky.com/shop/silk-in鈥?/a> as well. You will need to apply this to your hair before applying the Quick Smooth and they conveniently do not include even a sample of the Silk Infusion when you purchase the Quick Smooth.

Also, my oldest daughter is a Cosmetology student. She said that when you use your straightener to do it in sections starting at the nape of your neck and work your way up. It will help control the appearence of the thickness of your hair.

    Good luck!
i use bumble and bumble products.

i actually use the leave-in-conditioner and then straighten my hair......i love the results!!!! it appx 20.00???im not sure...
    Things to get:

-Pantene Treatment (2 for a $1 at dollarama!)

    -A Starightening Cream

    -A good straightener

-Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock (you can use this even if you don't have brown hair)

    What to do:

    1. Wash hair and use treatment

    2. Dry hair

    3. Straighten hair:

Section off hair (straighen in layers) starting with bottom layer and working your way up. Also apply a very small amount of shine shock to each layer before straightening.

    4. Apply more shine shock to all of your hair if you want more shine and smoothness. Be careful not to apply to much because it will start to look greasy.

Naturally straight hair going extremely wavy.?

ive always had easy hair to manage. ive never needed an iron, a simple 5 min blowout would give me the perfectly straight silky hair i like. but now my hair is going extremely wavy. i remember back when i was younger i had a couple waves, nothing like it is now, then they were gone, but now theyve come back and it looks like they wana make a statement. the thing is i dont know why or how, i saw some articles on curly hair going straight, but i didnt find anything like this. the worst part is i dont know how to style it. if i brush it out it get s frizzy, (ive never ever had frizz in my life!!) but if i dont brush it, it s all volumized, i cant find another word to describe, its not puffy, just out and all around. the only thing ive been doing differently is using the sunsilk hairapy, i dont know if that could be it. ok so i hope you guys can help. and by the way iam 23, so i dont think it could be hormones or anything dealing with age changes. or maybe... idk. k well thanks guys!!Naturally straight hair going extremely wavy.?
Might be over treated hair... Or a hormone change.... My hair got really curly and dry after my hormones went down....Naturally straight hair going extremely wavy.?
i always had naturally straight hair... i didnt have to do anything other than get up and brush it... then one morning i woke up and i swear i had an afro on my head lol. but it was REALLY curly... and i still have it. but i would LOVE to have wavy hair!!

dont brush it when it's dry (unless you've straightened it), either run ur fingers thru it in the shower, or when u get out of the shower brush it w/ a wide-toothed comb... not a brush, bcuz that can damage ur hair.

when you get out of the shower, dont dry your hair with a towel, it causes frizz!! find an old t-shirt that u never wear bcuz its too big, too little, ect.. dry your hair with that bcuz it reduces frizz.

after you've towel dried your hair, but some kind of mousse on it and scrunch it. you may have to dry it a few different times using different amounts each time until you get it how you want it. i dont recommend using garnier fructise.... and i have no idea how to spell that, but hair dressers say it's not good for your hair. i use tressemme and it works really good on my extra curly hair, so it should work good on ur wavy hair!

dont blow dry it, unless you just absolutely have to have it dry, then use the cold thing on the blow drier to dry it with, if u use warm air it makes ur hair frizzier.

you can top it off with hair spray to make it stay how you want it!!

also, if your hair tends to like fine when u fix it, but later in the day at school or work it gets frizzy.. buy a small spray bottle and put water in it and add conditioner to it and just spray it on ur hair!

    hope i helped! =]

How can I get natural looking waves?

I have flat, straight hair and I absolutely envy people with naturally wavy hair. I really haven't tried anything to get it but I don't really know how to start. So is there something that's easy and fast? How can I get natural looking waves?
I wash my hair in the evening and then either put it in a messy bun on top of my head or in a french plait. I allow it to dry over night and then mouse it in the morning. Also, curling the odd end with curling tongs helps and a diffuser is useful too. Good luck xHow can I get natural looking waves?
with damp hair and a little gel, braid hair from the top in pigtails and sleep in them in the morning run your fingers through it and put hairspray all over it.
You could try putting your hair into plaits after you wash your hair,

and take them out a few hours later

    -it would be wavy :)

Or you could put your hair in heated rollers that would make your hair look really nice, there are loads of videos on youtube that show how to make natural waves, try there?

    Good luck :)

    xxx
I have naturally curly hair myself, but I know some people wash it in the evening and then braid it while still wet and let it dry overnight in their sleep. and then just take the braids out in the morning. for more waves you can do multiple braids.
we could at night. at the time of full moon and the new moon
get a relaxer done at the salon.

You can also french braid it. The more braids, the curlier (wavier) it will be.

    here's what you can do.

with wet or damp hair, braid it or have someone braid it for you.

Leave in all day and then sleep in it. The next day use a blow dryer and make sure your hair is completely dry. Then take out the braids.

You're then left with beautiful natural looking waves.

For best results, finish off with spray or some mousse (wal*mart has a fabulous spray/gel called Got2B (it's great!)

    Good luck!!
    w/ product.
u can use ur straightner to create waves
Have you tried mousse and scrunched it up when your hands are damp?

  • How to get Angie boylen (from desperate house wives) waves?

I have naturally straight hair and I love the way Angie boylen from desperate house wives hair looks. I also liked Miley Cyrus' hair on American idol..I'm thinking about getting a body wave, but I don't know if that would be a good idea. Maybe there is something else. I've done the whole French braid thing, an scrunching my hair with gel, and rollers don't work. Any advice would be great! Thanks! How to get Angie boylen (from desperate house wives) waves?
    Hey :)

I love desperate housewives! Anyway, back to the hair.

Just after you've washed your hair, depending on the intensity of the waves plait it into 1 or more plaits (not braids). If you want curls near the top of your head do braids. If this doesn't hold then after washing your hair, and before you put it into the plaits, massage into it some curl syrum. This stuff will make sure your hair stays wavy! You can get it from any supermarket in the hair section.

This always works for me, so good luck!

    Hope I helped.

How can i make my hair...?

wavy?? but nice pretty waves?? i have straight hair and i want to get nice wavy hair with no FRIZZES i tried the braiding when my hair is damp already and it didnt work out too good at all , it was a disaster my hair was all frizzed up and poofy with curls/waviness. but please help! i want to look good for school tomorrow! if you have any other hairstyles please let me know, or any hair tricks!! im desperate lol. BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS, and i am not harsh with choosing. please provide pictures n instructions as well!! plus. i have medium dark brown straight hair and a round face if it matters. THANK YOU ALL%26lt;33How can i make my hair...?
There are a couple of options. You could get a hair crimper - but I don't know if that's the kind of look you want. For me, the braids work best if I put them in while wet and sleep on them over night, but you should try it before going to school to see if that's what you want (on a weekend?)

You could also try using a thin barrelled curling iron and loosly wrapping your hair around it, not enough so that it curls tightly, but enough to give it a slight wave.

How to put hair up in a bun or messy bun? (straight hair)?

I've tried a lot of different videos and tutorials but none of them ever seem to work. Most of them look like they use the natural curl/wave of a person's hair to help support or keep them up.

It's like every girl that wants to put her hair up has really wavy or naturally curly hair...which doesn't work for me. I have the kind of straight hair that someone with curls probably spends hours flat ironing to achieve. While it makes for easy mornings when I want to wear my hair down, it's almost impossible to get my hair to do anything, and I love updos :/

does anyone have any bun solutions for extremely straight hair? How to put hair up in a bun or messy bun? (straight hair)?
I have the same problem. Try just combing your hair through when it is damp and spray scrunching gel onto your hair. Then dry your hair upside and scrunch it constantly with your hands till dry. Don't use any brushes when drying your hair or when dry so that it keeps some texture in it. When dry, spray more scrunching spray in your hair and scrunch again. Then when you put your hair up in a messy bun it should hold extremely well. I have exactly the same hair as you, and this works every time, trust me :)How to put hair up in a bun or messy bun? (straight hair)?
1st, put you hair in a ponytail.

2nd, twist the ponytail and wrap it around the actual hair tie where the ponytail starts..

3rd, with another hair tie, tie in a few times around the twisted hair to create a bun.

if that doesnt work then what i always do is throw all of my hair up into a bun before i put it into a hair tie but i also have very long, curly hair.

    -Hope i helped!
I have the same hair as you, and this is what I do:

I make a high ponytail and mess it up a bit to make it less tight. I fold the bottom of the ponytail into the bottom and use another elastic to secure it, then pull tight. Tuck in the strands of hair that escape to make it look messier.

This look is even easier to achieve when you sleep in braids to make beachy waves. It looks very cute with a couple strands framing your face. (:
I have the same type of hair you do! :) This is what I do:

    1. Tie a loose ponytail at the nape of your neck so that your bangs are out and your hair isn't flat against your head

    2. Loosely twist the ponytail and wrap it around the hairband, securing the bun in place with another elastic.

    3. Mess up the bun by pulling on sections of hair and twisting and tucking pieces into the hairband.

The key here is LOOSELY.. A tight bun can't look messy!
Okay this is what you do ...

Do everything like you are putting your hair in a pony-tail , then on your last loop of the pony tail instead of pulling it all the way through stop half way and then leave it .

    Waa-laa !! A messy bun .
    heyaa

i just did a tutorial on youtube and it really helped me!

How does hair get so straight?

Right so I've just dropped whatever masculinity I had left and entered the world of beautiful straight hair lol. Problem is half the time it doesn't bloody work! I just wondered what the process is in treating your hair so it will stay straight. Currently I'm washing my hair as little as possible because every time I do the it won't straighten for like 2 days :( When I do, I shampoo and condition then try to straighten it when it's dry but it just waves about all over the place and there's strands of hair flying about, it's just a mess. Sometimes if I apply gel straight (no pun intended :P) afterward, it sort of keeps it down but I have to wear a motorcycle helmet most days so it just messes up again. I often see guys with perfectly combed and straight hair everyday so how do they do it?How does hair get so straight?
Yeah, the reason that your hair straightens so much better after you haven't washed it for a couple days is that you have dry hair that frizzes with heat styling products. When you left your hair natural, it was never an issue, but now that you're straightening it, you're causing serious damage to the follicles of the hair -- hence why they're not holding together in the style you want!

What you need is a great product that you can apply right after towel-drying your hair. Bedhead makes good ones, as does Bumble and Bumble. Apply on wet -- but not sopping wet -- hair, working from the tips to the roots so that it won't get too greasy.

Then blow-dry your hair. You can do this process with just your hands working through the different layers, or you can use a round bristle brush, wrapping the hair around the brush and drying through. (The second will straighten your hair more and might eliminate the straightening iron step, if you get good at it!)

Then straighten it. Make sure that all of your hair is dry -- you said you ';try to straighten it when it's dry,'; but it HAS to be for there not to be permanent hair damage! -- and work from the bottom layers, closest to the nape of your neck to the top layers.

If your hair is short and thick, you could apply gel. But I recommend using a pomade that will cut down on frizz and keep your style. Bumble and Bumble makes great ones!

And when it comes to comparing yourself to those perfectly groomed guys on the street -- don't! It sounds like you've got lovely thick hair. If you're intent on a perfect style, carry around a comb and a tiny bottle of spray hair oil.How does hair get so straight?
wash with carrot..it can make your hair very straight because i make it everdays..
After you straighten it then put hairspray on it. Or you can buy these beanie like hats that you can wear to keep you hair straight when your wearing your helmet or before you go out. I forget what they are called but i guess that a beanie would work the same.

    Hope that helps.

i have really straight hair that doesn't hold curls well with just a curling iron. what can i do to get cute curls or waves that will stay? How do i get curly or at least wavy hair?
Doing the braids will work. You can also try putting your wet hair in an old fashioned roller set...that can take a little practice since you have to roll your hair around the roller and then clip it. Another way, which is easier, is to try sponge rollers and sleep in them. Heres a picture of the pattern in which you should roll your hair...its a pretty standard way. Try finding a liquid gel to put on it before you roll it...it will give you some hold without feeling really sticky or stiff. One thing to remember when buying/using rollers is that the bigger the roller, the bigger the looser the curl-the smaller the roller, the tighter the curl. Good luck! How do i get curly or at least wavy hair?
get a perm or sleep with braids for wavy hair
dude i used to have the same problem it drove me crazy because it would take me hours to curl my hair and i hated it

so i researched how to give hair natural curls and i was surprised

so wash your hair like you normally do but do it at night before your going to bed or do it earlier if your not doing anything all evening.. the earlier the better, try not to use straitening shampoos and then when your hair is still wet put some form of gel in it, any gel works.. try getting stuff that holds curls if you feel like spending money but normal gel works

spread it evenly throughout your wet hair and comb it through

then split your hair in half, from eye to eye so you have an even split on top and bottom, then take the top half and twist it (while its wet) and keep twisting it until its in a tight bun and then wrap and elastic around it to hold it tight then do the same to the bottom half so in the end you'll have two buns on the back of your head and leave them like that over night and in the morning they will still be wet in the middle but no worries

take the bottom bun out and it will be in almost one giant curl, just split it in half then split those halves in half.. and continue doing that until you have the desired amount of curls you want.. then gently blow dry your hair like that (on a low setting) and while your drying it gradually put hairspray in to hold and once that's done do the same with the top

it takes up about 10 - 20 minutes of your time rather then spending hours of frustrating i love it!!
ohhh deffinetly use aussie sprunch spray or tresseme flawless curls mouse becuase they really stay good and you put it in when your hair is damp the you just dry it and it alo prevents it from being frizzy or i would try perms or i would do is go to bed with your hair wet and in curlers then the next morning they might be really pretty or really ugly and if they are ugly then just use the curler then put in hairspary that really works for my hair

  • How to CURL my hair!! NOT wave it!! thxx.?

Okay, so I have thin, straight hair and it's pretty long and layered. I want to curl my hair and I want the curls to be kind of tight. Now I have tried EVERYTHING to curl my hair with!! I tried the old grandma foam curlers, I tried a 1-inch curling barrel, I even bought perm rods (curlers used for perms) without the perm solution because I know the solution is very damaging. I asked a stylist if that would work, and she said it would. Know, when I curl my hair with the perm rods or the foam curlers I don't get nice tight curls, I get the ';Goldie Locks'; type of curls. And if I try to seperate the Goldie Locks looking curls, the curl just falls apart and becomes a big, messy, ugly wave. Now, I'm guessing that I must be curling my hair wrong or something. Please HELP ME with how to curl my hair!!! And any suggestions you may have as well, or something that works for you. Thank you SOO SOOOO much!! I'll appreciate it greatly!!!How to CURL my hair!! She will also tell you what type of setting lotion to use and also give you advice on size and type of hair rollers to use to acheive the look that you wish to receive.

I would normally advise the use of plastic mesh salon rollers or magnetic rollersHow to CURL my hair!! NOT wave it!! thxx.?
    hot curlers
If a curling rod that size doesn't curl it then you need a body perm. It's the only thing that will keep the curl in unfortunately. A body perm is mild and if given correctly will not ruin your hair........

    A professional hair dresser
Use hairspray before and let it dry, then curl your hair on the OUTSIDE of a large barrel curling iron. This makes those looser curls. Then, don't comb them out and hairspray again. You should be able to do it with a bit of practice. This is how I wore my hair to winter formal!
just experiment with it, use different curling irons, hair sprays, and if you cant get these to work, go ask a hairstylist.
You can do as beach_babe suggested and use hair spray or a spray gel and the outside of a 3/4'; or 1'; barrel curling iron. Also another suggestion... if you are familiar with using a flat iron, you can get those curls with a flat iron. It takes a few practice trys. Whatever you do, don't do it for the first time right before an important event. Always do a practice run or two.

I have naturally straight hair, with just a little bit of wave... I usually just blow dry, but sometimes use a straightening iron. My hair gets so frizzy that I have to just pull it back into a pony tail. I am so jealous of all the girls at my college who have perfectly straight hair, with no fly aways or frizz. i get the same problem. after i get out of the shower i use a product called ';chi'; that stops breakage when blowdrying or straightening. With less breakage it should improve the amount of fly aways. also after i do my hair i spray lightly around my enitre head and then brush through. this helps keep my hair straight and without wave.

How to keep straightened hair straight?

I have thin, fine hair that is too short to keep the natural wavy/curl it has. It's to my shoulders, with a choppy layer to it. I straighten it, and it looks great, but throughout the day, it starts to curl up at the shoulders an just get a general wave. How do I stop this? Thanks. :DHow to keep straightened hair straight?
Try using a dehumidifier spray after you straighten your hair. It should provide a protective layer from moisture, that generally causes it to frizz or curl up.

    STRAIGHTENING MY HAIR!?

I have problems making my hair straight. I have natural waves, and my hair tends to be frizzy. I do get it trimmed and I use a very moisturizing conditioner to keep it together. Also, I use some after wash treatments to make it look piecey. However, it seems that no matter how I straighten it, either with a blowdryer, or a flat iron, it does not look sleek like my friends'! Instead, it looks like puffy straight hair and it gets greasy ten times faster if I use the flat iron. I want to know what to use to make it sleek, shiny, and straight without getting a perm, having to use ten thousand products, and having to spend hours to make it look good. Anybody, help me please!STRAIGHTENING MY HAIR!?
Well since no one else brought this up... I think your problem might POSSIBLY (not totally sure)be your ';very moisturizing conditioner.'; You should switch to a conditioner made for oily hair.

With heat, water is taken out of your hair, leaving more power for the conditioner on your hair (since water makes it more diluted). that might be why it gets 10x greasy

get the hair products esp. for oily hair. I wouldn't use dishwashing soap like the other answer because that completely strips your hair of oils, and your hair produces oils naturally, so if there is suddenly no oil it will produce even more oil to compensate.

ALSO your hair is puffy because there is too much volume. that might also be because of your conditioner.STRAIGHTENING MY HAIR!?
    go to a pro:)
go to a professional hairstylist! they have plenty of tips. you could also get some hair product...(and u dont have to have 10,000 different stuff)... i have frizzy hair so i use FrizzEase by ...crap i forgot but look it up or go to like yout local beauty shop! hope this helps!
Some straighteners have oil on them that make your hair oily. And make sure your hair is completely dry before you straighten or do anything. When your straightner isn't that high, and you iron your hair, your hair would become frizzy because your rubbing the plate irons together. Make sure it's hot enough.
you could go to your local shoppers drug mart and ask them if they have anything for your hair condition or there are these types of products that I have used but I cant remember the name!
I am as white as it gets and my hair is worse than a black persons.

I straighten mine with either a InStyler or the Maxi/MiniStraights.

I can get my AFRO straight in about 20 minutes. I use regulare shampp and conditioner, but when i get out of the shower i put in leave in conditioner.

I also BRUSH my hair while i'm IN the shower...
i have the same exact problem.

well, you HAVE to get it trimed.

    straitening your hair gives you

    spilt ends which makes your

    hair extremly frizzy. once you

get it cut, take a shower and

    instead of using shampoo, use

danw dish soap. only do this

once. this will clean out your

hair and make it less greasy.

then put a hot oil treatment in

your hair. that should help ALOT.
oh my gosh i feel your pain. lol i have pretty much the same type of hair. i actually find it easier to use a curling iron to straighten my hair than a flat iron. heres what i do: wash%26amp;condition hair every other day, and LET IT AIR DRY!!! hair dryers only make it more frizzy and fluffy. then, as many times a week as you need to, curl your hair in small pieces probably 3 inches across all over after brushing it out. if you keep moving the curler down and not twisting, it will end up straight with a slight curl upwards at the ends. if you have bangs, though, a flat iron works better. tip: when straightening (with the curling iron) do the under layers of hair first, then the top. sorry its kind of long. good luck! :)
Okay. If you are serious about your hair you'll listen to me. Shampoo it with something claryfying and CONDITION! put in ';its a ten'; styling product... any beauty supply store. and then blowdry it using a flat brush on the cool setting. Spritz some glossing spray and then straingen it

  • I want an afro but I have straight hair. How can I get an afro?

I have straight/wavy hair. It is mostly straight but has a wave to it but I have always wanted an afro. Afro's are rare and I think it would be really cool to have one.

I go to a private school and we have a strict dress code so I'm not allowed to look the way I want. I have always told myself that when I grow up, I will have a beard and either dreadlocks or an afro. I always just settled for dreadlocks because I don't know if it would be possible for me to get an afro. I'd want a really long beard, like Santa Claus, and really long dreadlocks. I know that may sound a little unusual, but it is the way I want to look. Also though I want dreadlocks, I'd prefer an afro. At my school, we aren't allowed to have dreadlocks but I'm pretty sure people can have afro's because a few people have them so I could start now.

But can't I get some of that stuff and put it on my hair so that I could have an afro? Do you know what it is called? I heard of this stuff that I would rub on my hair and wash it out and them have an afro. Do you know what it is called and would it be permanent? Would the hair grow out of my scalp as an afro too or would I have to keep using it? And if the stuff wouldn't work, is there anyway possible that I with straight/wavy hair would be able to get an afro?I want an afro but I have straight hair. How can I get an afro?

I can't seem to be able to wave my hair?

I have thick hair, goes mid-chest length, well I have watched so many youtube videos on how to wave hair with a flat iron, and I blow dry my hair straight, but I can only get the first layer waved while the rest of my hair is in a clip.

what do I do? If anyone has a full video, please send it. Because the ones on youtube never show how they do their whole head or have thick hair.

yes a common mistake among those ignorant to style.

Turn the iron on high - full power and apply continuously to hair for a period of about 30 min. You will have that nice permanent wave your looking for. ;)I can't seem to be able to wave my hair?
    peroxide and oven cleaner
This is what I would do. Take a shower and brush your hair. Add some mousse for wavy hair like Aussie Catch the Wave Mousse. Then flip over your hair and twist in and circle it into a bun and sleep on it. Then in the morning leave it in a bun and hairspray and then blowdry until the middle is completely dry. Then when you take out the bun your hiar should be wavy :)

How to make straight hair wavy?

i have naturally straight hair and i always straighten it for school, and i want to do something different with my hair. i used to curl it with a curling iron and ppl told me that they thought my hair looked better curly..but that takes too long and its always flat by the end of the day. so how do i get like ';beachy waves'; ? i like how blake livley's hair is like kinda wavey.and please tell me what products to use so i can buy them. thanks! :)How to make straight hair wavy?
use some sort of hair gel but not alot...and brush it and scrunch it, but don't use too much gel you will end up getting that super gay gangster look. then take the blow dryer to it to dry it up a little...

Use a mild gel....How to make straight hair wavy?
No need for fancy, expensive products. Take a shower at night rather than the morning, and after you take a shower, braid your hair. Sleep with the braids on and take them out in the morning. Your hair is guaranteed to stay wavy all day and never flattens (at least from my experiences).
get a perm but tell them you want waves not curls it'll end up as a afro puff
You could braid your hair and then take it out in the morning and hair spray it. I used to do that almost every day when I had longer hair...
before you jump for a perm try rollers. Make sure to use products with this. Hot rollers usually work the best, or buy the velcro rollers and use a low setting blow dryer to help dry them. Before you take the rollers out hit them with cool air on your blow dryer. The cool air will close down your cuticles making the bounce better and last much longer.

Remember perms are pretty much permanent. The curl wont stay forever but the damage on your hair will.
You have several options. You could buy a triple barrel iron, this will take just as long as a curling iron but your hair will stay wavy for days. Any moose will also help make styling easier and last longer. You could also go the semi permanent route and get a perm. It can't really hurt since you straighten your hair everyday anyway.

How can I get curls like these (pic inside)?

I really want to get curls like these:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/12177434@N0鈥?/a>

How can I? I have naturally straight hair with some waves. My hair is thin, so its hard to get curls to stay in. Any tips to get them to stay in?How can I get curls like these (pic inside)?
I'm guessing there are a few ways the first one is to wash your hair and keep it wet but not dripping wet and scrunch your hair up so you can see some curls forming then spray in or add some kind of styling gel and scrunch again this should keep them holding once your hair dries... after it dries straighten out the top parts of your hair to make it seem more neater....

Another suggestion would be to get a big tong curling ion and just do it that way, and after spray either a misty gel or light hairspray and let it set...

Another way is to get Perm, you can buy home ones but I'm not sure how they would work out but you can go to the hairdressers to get this done just show them a photo of what kind of curls you want and the effect can be achieved.

Hope this helps! How can I get curls like these (pic inside)?
use hair spray and a big curling iron
    YOU CAN USE THE SPIRALS
CURLING TONGS OR get some rags and tie a tight but not too tight knot with them before you go 2 bed then when u wake up ur have curls
Try rag curls. I do this at bedtime.

Take a pillow case and cut it in strips approximately 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. You want about 20 strips. Take a section of dry hair ans spritz with water or better yet, a leave in conditioner. I like Sunsilk. Wrap bottom of hair section around the strip and roll up and under to the top of your head. Tie the ends of the strip around the roll. Do your whole head. Not only will you wake up with curls that won't quit, you'll look cute as hell in your jammies!

Some tips...The smaller the roll, the tighter the curl. Only roll up halfway if you want curls like the picture. Do NOT use a brush on them or you'll have poodle hair. Style with either your fingers or a wide tooth comb. These curls should last a few days if they don't get wet.

    Have fun!

Getting straight hair curly/wavy without an iron?

I have naturally straight(ish) hair. When I let it dry naturally, I get a few waves/curls and one side will flip out while the other will curl down. Yeah weird, I know = p

Normally, I'll blow dry it dry and then straighten it. I'm kinda tired of it though. = /

It takes like a billion years for me to curl it with an iron, so I was wondering if there are any good sprays or creams to put in my hair and scrunch it to make it curl or wave?

Also, I'm going to a camp in two weeks where I'm going to be indoors for a week and a half, then on a ship for the other week and a half. Yes, it will damage your hair. As long as your hair isn't colored, you should be okay.Getting straight hair curly/wavy without an iron?
i hate straightnen mine all the time 2...lol perms do damage hair!! lol...
well when your at camp but it in braids... and then it will be wavy..
dye it in and Drink purple drank.
Try using curling gel and scrunching it.

I do that with my hair and its naturally straight
just put it in braids at night to get curls/ waves
get a pencil or something round like that, and just curl the tip of a streak of your hair around it, and gel it when you roll it all up. when you realease it, it should be curled. umn.. you can braid your hair fairly over night. or yeah just get that perm (: good luck
i would have to say indtead of damaging hair styling products, just get curl defining gel, and after you take a shower, towel dry it no so much though, then scrunch the gel in your hair, it may not be super curly, but it WILL give you curls, or waves.
i have the same problem. right when you get out of the shower, put ur hair in a tight bun. when your hair is almost dry take it out.
a perm would be the easiest is last about 2-6 months depending on your hair.....but i always use ausie products to scrunch my hair, either hair spray or mousse
when you get out of the shower put a curl spray / gel in your hair brush through flip you hair upside down and while blowdring scrunch your hair with your other hands half way day the scrunch it up and leave it in an hair tie or towel and leave in for 10-15 mins then finish what you were doing the first time around it works i have pin straight hair as well or you can get an perm with big rods to make you have the illusion of loose curls because the smaller you go your gonna look like shirly temple
When your hair is wet, put mousse in it. Works great with my hair. It only works when your hair is wet so a loose perm might be easier. I've gotten many loose perms and it never damages my hair. Most times perms always turn out different. I've had many perms and some turn out better than others. They can last anywhere from a couple of months to almost a year. It all depends on how good your hair will hold the perm. Good luck and hope I helped:):)
I have the same kind of hair, I normally straighten it,and i get tired of straightening too, but if you just get some kind of mouse or curling gel (most of them work the same to me), then scrunch it in your hair while it's wet and every once in a while why it's drying it and it should be pretty curly.
A loose body wave would be perfect for you. It's like a perm, just a lot looser, because they use bigger rollers. It will last up to half a year, maybe longer if you are good to your hair. It will damage your hair a little bit, but you'll be fine as long as your hair isn't over processed. Also, you can straighten it easily if you want to.
well, i have the same hair. when i wash my hair, i dont blow dry it, i give myself braided pigtails and i sleep in them. i take em off and i have wavy hair. it is temporary tho bc when i brush my hair, it becomes straight again.

i havnt tried this yet. mabe it will work. --%26gt; after u give yourself braided pigtails, blow dry them and in the morning take them off.
Omg I cant belive it...I have the exact same hair as you! I straighten mine all the time and was wondering the same thing until I read in a magazine (seventeen) that there ARE creams and sprays to put in your hair! I've never tried one but maybe it will work for you try Sunsilk waves of envy at drugstores and then spray and scrunch!!! Also you can try perming it but it will damage your hAIR...there are harmful chemicals...For your straightening problem try a hat or if you must put it up vary the style...one day a ponytail the next a sidde bun then maybe try a hat then wear it wavy then pigtails and so on
i have long wavy hair that i blow dry straight. if you have a desire for curls get go for the loose perm, i used to do them and there is a little damage but conditioner works. I loved being able to leave with my hair wet and it looked styled all day.

I had hair EXACTLY like yours and I hated how it looked like me. Straightening did not work for me at ALL. So I went to the salon and got a straightening perm in November '06....Its STILL straight and soft and shiny...gorgeous. I really recommend it. You might think that chemicals might damage your hair, but TRYING to straighten it definately FRIES your hair so you should definately get it chemically straightened. Chemically straightening definately is the way to go, about $60-$100, which might seem like a lot, but its' not cause I bet you that you have already probably spent that much money on straighteners and products on your hair trying to make it staight. Lasts about 6-8 months and then you can touch it up.
You can only straighten it for a short time - ultimately Nature will win out. Unless you shave it off and wear a straight wig...

Hello, yes, you have many options...First if your hair is so curly, you NEED a CHI straightener (my salon $250.00+), it will cost your arm and leg, but it will be totally worth it. Then you need to purchase products to protect your hair shaft from all that heat. I recommend NOT using the CHI products, I found them sticky and Redken works better...Start with Redken's Straightening balm (#12 ?? $20.00+) and blow dry, then use Redken's Spray Starch (# ???$20.00+) and spray each section before (just before) running the straightener over it. Find your self one of those terry-cloth-face-wash-hair holder-back-thingies and use a shower cap when showering to protect your hair from moisture, when doing all this to your hair, you should only be washing your hair 2ce a week, unless you have super oily hair, but this straightener and lots of washing will FRY your hair, so you must take care, and also buy a deep conditioner (Redken's Heavy Creme $20.00+) People do not realize what damage straighteners do to the hair shaft. Chemical relaxers also damage the hair shaft, and they do not always leave your hair perfect. I would always recommend a straightener to my clients first, because sometimes you still need to do daily maintenance on chemically relaxed hair. Using a CHI straightener on chemically relaxed hair daily would be disastrous, without the proper products and care....Good Luck, hope this helps.
Well, I have very curly/frizzy hair and I have a few suggestions. First of all, if you want to continue straightening your hair, I would say you should definitely get a straightner with 100PERCENT ceramic plates. These won't dry out your hair, and will preserve the natural glossiness and moisture in your hair. I'd recommend Conair, or similar brands, you'll want to spend around forty bucks or so for a good ones, 10dollar straightners aren't going to cut it usually.

Second, when you straighten it, make sure you don't hold the straightner on your hair in any one spot for too long. This is really bad for your hair, it can damage it and leave very frizzy, bad smelling patches in your hair. Start from the top with your straightner and quickly carefully work down, trying not to clamp down too hard. Maybe try using a comb, and run it down through your hair as you straighten it. Also, maybe you're putting the temperature too high, ask your hair stylist which temperature would be best on your thickness of hair.

Okay, if you don't want to straighten your hair, here's some stuff I've tried that keeps your hair from getting out of hand.

One good brand is this stuff called Sunsilk, if I were you I'd try either the purple one called straighten up (that's what I have, it works pretty good) or the green one, it's for frizzy hair. You choose, there's different kinds for different hairs. There are three steps you can do, shampoo, conditioner, and a special creme for after the shower.

Another brand I'd recommend is Bedhead, and it is really really nice stuff. Yeah, it's not the cheapest, but it's really worth it. For my hair (which is very very curly, so I'm not exactly like you) I use Control Freak, it's supposed to flatten curls and stomp frizz. (although no kind is perfect!!) There's four steps, shampoo, conditioner, serum, and a hairspray I think.

Also, Pantene makes your hair very soft, you can get ones for dry/frizzy hair. I use it sometimes, but I don't actually own any at the moment.

Finally, if you want pretty, curly hair that isn't frizzy, try Catwalk's Curlz Rock. It makes curls curlier without adding frizz, and it's really nice stuff. There's shampoo and conditioner, and a curl former that takes away frizz and helps to form curlz and waves.

These are all great brands, try a few out, maybe get a small bottle of the shampoo or something. Ask a friend to try her striaghtner. And the best home remedy is before you go to bed if your hair is still damp, put three or four ponytail holders on it, so that it keeps it from poofing out at night.

Hope this helped, sorry for such a long answer. =) :-) ;)
    Heyy,

Your hair sounds just like mine. What i use is sunsilk's frizzy hair shampoo and conditioner. It works really good, Giving it neat curly curls. Another thing you can do is use a straightner right from a pro hair stylist shop. About 80$. And use a hairspray for styling when using a straightner. Works everytime.

    Straight hair question?

Ok, so my hair is pretty naturally straight with a SLIGHT wave, so i straighten it every morning and it looks amazing(:. Anyway, i have p.e. first hour and so i get all sweaty and my hair gets gross. Like i have some layers and the layers all FLIP OUTWARDS. I guess kind of like this: http://tressedoutcelebs.com/wp-content/u鈥?/a>

except my hair is looong and hers looks all nice and neat but it just looks really wrong with my hair.

Soo, how do I get my hair to stay perfectly straight?

[I already hairspray, use straightening balm, use straighter]

    Straight hair question?
cut it? i think her hair looks cute.Straight hair question?
    Keep your hair tied back.
tie it back in a low pony and only wrap the hair tie around twice

I have long thick straight hair...how do I curl it?

I have this long thick straight hair and i like it.. i really do its just i want to curl it and i have sort of with a curling iron but it really doesnt get that curl its just kind of blah and i want to get it like real curly or waves are cool too or like that cool crimp type look i dont know please help me out!!I have long thick straight hair...how do I curl it?
Well if you want waves....braid your hair into four sections getting all of your hair(maybe more because of how thick your hair is, but just braid alll the hair into four sections..or french braid by the way do it after you take a shower!) sleep on the braids and take them out when you wake up and you should have wavy hair

if you want to curl it.. take small sections of your hair and curl it and if your curler is not good just go get curlers the things you put in your hair

or another curlerI have long thick straight hair...how do I curl it?
    Try curling tongues (:

    Or rollers haha
try curlers overnight, or put it in a bun when wet and keep it in a bun overnight
You could have a mild perm like a demy wave. Or you could wash your hair before you go to bed leave it in rollers overnight with hair spray on, it should be curly in the morning. Good luck
you could try hair rollers heated or the other kind. they come in different sizes, so you can chose how big of a curl you want.

    http://beauty.ivillage.com/hair/cutsstyl…
You don't need curly hair, long, thick straight hair is my favorite hair type.
For curly you may have to go to a salon, but for waves, you can braid it while it's wet and when you take it out it should be wavy.
You could try having your hair wet then braid or french braid for waves, but when u mess with wet hair like that your hair might smell.

Or you can just buy a crimping iron that have three slots to crimp.
I Have the exact same problem as you, long thick straight hair.

curls from curling tongs don't hold at all in my hair.

    i bought a pack of bendy curlers...i found i needed about 18...

put them in after having a bath/shower, and leave overnight.

you will have really nice curls.i find they can hold in for 48 hours :D
I have the same problem- i either sleep with rollers in lool or use wax whn i use a curlling iron which makes it easier to do and last longer.

  • What model/brand of hair straightener/curler would you recommend?

I have naturally straight hair and would like to get a curler to give it some waves. Since you can use a straightener to curl as well though, would it be smarter to get a curler instead? How difficult is curling with a straightener?

I'm also asking for recommendations of straighteners and curlers. I'm looking for something effective, with different levels of heat, safe and easy to use and below $100.

Thank youWhat model/brand of hair straightener/curler would you recommend?
    Hey :-)

(Jenifer Aniston uses the straightener Im about to reccomend - honestly she does, first I doubted it but so many websites say she does! -And other celebrities too.)

Okay, I have been researching hair straighteners for like a month. You need to decide for yourself but here are the top brands: Sedu and ghd. I know you may have NEVER heard of ';Sedu'; because it is sold exclusively through the world's largest online beauty store. Folica.com

You need to look for one with:

*** Toumaline technology (hair naturally produces positive ions, but toumaline produces extra negative ions and therefore smooths the hair cuticle and means less damage is done)

*** So look for a ceramic (NOT cermaic coated, it has to be all ceramic) plate straightener with Tourmaline infused into the plates.

I e-mailed ghd and they do NOT use toumaline (t-or-ma-line). Also they do not have adjustable heat settings so it remains at a constant high temperature which is NOT good for all hair types.

    ***So look for adjustable temperature.

*** A good straightener (or ';flat iron';) goes to minimum 200 degrees Celcius.

*** A swivel cord so that it doesn't get tangled and annoy you while straightening.

-I have heard that the brand 'CHI' is VERY BAD, some have CAUGHT on FIRE!! (Seriosuly). People just tell you to buy them because they are popular, not good quality!

Check out Sedu straighteners (which have all the above features) at: http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Flat__360_1.h鈥?/a>

All the best :-) -I'm not sure how much it costs because it depends on which contry you live in! But check out the website - the Sedu straighteners have great reviews! What model/brand of hair straightener/curler would you recommend?
I use one called ';Logo'; every day that cost around 20 bucks. I've had it over a year and it works REALLY well. bought it at Target.
the only thing i can think of is a ghd and thats over a 100

How can I straighten my hair and keep it straight? [[Read description :] ]]?

I have naturally straight hair, like perfectly straight. Ever since got my hair cut in layers it has these giant waves. Like bumps, mostly on my right side. Its kinda hard to explain but anyway, every night I straighten my hair completely straight like it is naturally, and it looks perfect. I put hair spray in it ot make sure it stays straight. Its completely dry and straight, yet I go to sleep and wake up in the morning with another wave! Sometimes its not as bad as it was before I straightened it. I don't understand why my hair is so uncooperative! I can't stand working so hard to get my hair perfect and then having it ruined. And I can do it in the morning, I have to much to do in the morning and straightening my hair is not another thing I want to add to the list, I am not a morning person anyway. Please if there is anyway I can keep my hair straight and maybe even get it more straight to begin with help me! I'm lost here and I'm tried of wasting my time. Please and thanks :DHow can I straighten my hair and keep it straight? [[Read description :] ]]?
I would check your local drugstore, salon, or walmart because there are actually some products that are for over night. I'll try and post some links below, but its what my friend uses at night and she has super curly hair.

Something that also helps is to but in a low and NOT TIGHT ponytail before bedHow can I straighten my hair and keep it straight? [[Read description :] ]]?
    Get your hair chemically straightened.

    Good luck.
Whenever my hair doesn't go how I kike it I take it as a sign of god to shave my head.
i saw on tv the ladies in africa put cow poo on their hair. Makes it healthy, straight. You might attract new people into your life.
Obviously you have naturally wavy hair which shows up when it's shortened. When it's long, the weight pulls it out straight. You can let the layers grow back out again, use a chemical straightener, or just deal with it and do the little touch-ups in the morning. I would suggest the latter. I understand. I have the same issues. Have you tried scrunching it? That might work and be real cute on you.
i have the same problem but i fixed it.. use what the call hair wax... i know that sounds gross but when you hair is wet flip it over a use that. then blow dry it.blow dry it while your hair is still flipped over when your hair is dry. get your hair dry straightener and straighten it in layers. tease your hair in the back, i call it the poof, but that's just me. anyways use the wax stuff and spry it one more time so your hair stays like that and it looks really cute trust me
Oh ya I know how you feel. My hair is exactly like that. I just got a really good Straightener from my best friend and the brand is Conair it works really good. Go to www.kmart.com and look up straighteners or go to the store and get the conair one that says it heats up in 30 seconds. Then after that spray some hairspray in it. not like too much that you can't comb through your hair and not just a little so you can't even feel it. just a medium amount. My brand of hairspray, well I have 2 kinds. they both work great they are Freeze It and Herbal Essences. Hope this helped for you!
Straighten your hair at night and put it in a loose ponytail before you go to bed. When your wake up in the morning, brush your hair and straighten the slight crease the hair-tie made and any small bumps that might've formed. This should take 5 minutes max. To keep it straight the whole day use anti-frizz or straightening serum.

Hope it works! Sure does for me [:

How do i get my hair pin straight with a straightener?

ok, so my hair isn't thin, but its not thick eithor. its somewhere in the middle, and i have sort of a narutal curl to my bangs and i hate it. i straighten my hair every day and it gets like 95% of the curl out but theres still a little wave left [mind you my hair isnt incredibly curly, its just got a little curl] and i want it like emo hair kind of pin straight hair. i have a yellow and black conair straightener that i got at walmart [thats similar to this one: http://www.conair.com/satin-finish-ultra鈥?/a> ] that has 25 heat levels and ive been using like 18, but im afraid to go higher because i dont want to damage my hair [if i burnt off my bangs i would go into like a deep depression. lol] so my questions are how can i get my hair incredibly straight and if its just turning up my straightener then how much of a risk is there of burning off my hair?

btw i mainly use my straightener on my bangs, which are like roughly 5 inches long.

thanks!!How do i get my hair pin straight with a straightener?
there is this hair product that is called Suddenly Straight.

TO use: once out of the shower towel dry your head. after that distribute it evenly throughout the hair. You can either use a straightener or a blow dryer to straighten it. I suggest using the CHI straightening iron when hair is dried. also it was voted best kiss by Cosmo Girl, so that means a lot of people like it and irts really good. How do i get my hair pin straight with a straightener?
i would recommend a different flat iron cause the professional ones done damage your hair as much, but also you can get a flat iron protection spray for your hair when you straighten it, chi makes a really good one called iron guard and that will really help from your flat iron burning your hair
try using flat iron products, such as specifiec products directed towrads straightning i.e shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, like a spray sorta (it helps i use it)

    GOOD LUCKK!

chi products are awesome but something cheaper, go to wallgreens and browse and look at labels that say anything with straighning!
yeah you'll probably have to turn up the heat on your straightener. but there are products that you should put in your hair before you straighten it so it doesn't burn. try frizz eaze spray.
Even with lower heat settings you can slowly burn and damage the hair causing breakage and frizz. My hair is naturally crazy frizzy curls and I go for a relaxer. If you're looking to just deal with slightly curly hair, go to a store such as Walmart, in the hair products are many choices of relaxers that are anywhere from $4 to $12. Yes I know they all seem to be for black people's hair, but that doesn't really matter much if your hair isn't really thin, or especially don't try it if you have naturally thin blonde hair. (Didn't work as well for my sister's thin strawberry blonde hair as is does for my plain brown hair.)

Use it as per the instructions where you want it, and you may not need to do any touch up with the iron if you don't have really curly hair to begin with. It lasts for a couple of months thru so many washings, and when it fades, just touch up with what's left as you need it.

Also, any quick touch up with some sprays for straightening hair can help, but I personally don't like to use it much since it can cause my hair to sort of feel gunked up even a little bit, which isn't a good thing since hair needs to breath to stay healthy.

    Good Luck!

How do I get run-through-your-fingers hair?

I have mainly straight hair with a bit of wave. Underneath it's kinda coarser. If i don't do anything to it, it gets frizzy in places and it has a low shine... more of a sheen. It's not piecy, and I just got a haircut, but the ends fray out a bit. My scalp gets greasy or oily sometimes.

That's what its like when I do nothing to it.

How do I get my hair so I can run my fingers through it, but it won't be frizzy or greasy? How do I get run-through-your-fingers hair?
Just keep it very clean and well brushed out. If your hair is course underneath, you need to make sure you're brushing it well. Your description sounds a lot like my daughter's hair, and it looks the best when it's clean and well brushed.

Experiment with a variety of shampoos and conditioners until you find the combination that works well with your hair. You want a shampoo that leaves your hair feeling very clean (and not greasy) when you're in the shower. Then, you want a conditioner that leaves your hair easy to brush, but rinses out well.

A hair stylist may be able to help you select products, but you'll find that inexpensive grocery-store products have the potential to work just as well as expensive salon ones.

    ~KyannaHow do I get run-through-your-fingers hair?
I use BIOSILK It works great! It makes your hair shiny and silky! I use it right after i get out of the shower, towel dry it and put about dime size drop of that into my hair. It makes it soft and Beautiful! Good luck!

    www.biosilk.com/silk
hot oil treatment. it sounds scary i know.

i have the same problem with frizzy ends and greasy roots. such a curse. but do try a hot oil treatment. Alberto V05 had a good one at one time, but i don't know what else is out there. just make sure to rinse super good, especially at your roots. it will make it soft and manageable.

(dying your hair would work too, because of all the conditioners in the dye, if you wanted to try that as an option.)

    good luck!
use conditioners during a shower and leave on conditioners after a shower. it works for me and my hair is kinda thick. good luck with that!
After towel drying your hair, you should apply some sort of heat protectant (use SPARINGLY) then blow dry until fully dry. Dry in sections, if it makes it easier. Once it is dry, you will most likely need a flat iron. This will give your hair that ';run-your-fingers-through-it'; feel. Just separate your hair into different sections. Make sure you straighten all of your hair....then viola!!!! You will have that silky, smooth hair you are looking for.
A great way to get silky hair is to add heat from a ceramic hair straightener it will remove wave and frizz all day and even the next. It works AWESOME!
I would reccomend looking at Sunsilk hair products, They have shampoo and conditionner for every type of hair. For best results I would get two types of shampoo and I would mix them together in the shower, First, Therma shine to make it shiny and soft http://www.gethairapy.com/products/detai鈥?/a>

then use the Anti Grease shampoo, together you should have Your Straight/wavy hair with a perfect shine, soft and easy to run threw hair without any grease.

    Hope that helps!

How to keep my hair Silky?

Ok so i have straight hair, with a little bit of a wave, i do brush my hair and wash it. i wash my hair every other day. when i go to school me hair is SILKY AND SOOOOO SOFT! But i get thru 1st and 2nd period and its frizzy and tangled! i usually brush it when the teachers not looking but i really want to stop doing that cas Ive never gotten detention, iss, oss, or even a strike! and i DONT want 1! so any tips or ideas? How to keep my hair Silky?
in the shower what u do to keep your hair my silky is, the last thing to do is change ur shower wter to cold and THEN condition your hair THIS WILL ALSO MAKE UR HAIR SHINIER!..............and if u keep on using a straightener to your hair itll make it dryer, flakier, and cuse heat damage so id try to straighten it as little as possibleHow to keep my hair Silky?
use straighteners i know your hair is straight but they will keep ur hair poker straight! also use serum this will make ur hair shiny and keep it straighter for longer, try not to brush comb instead bruhing causes frizz
well i dont have silky hair but my friend does and all you have to do is carry a brush/comb and you dont have to brush it in class just ask the teacher if you could use the bathroom and then brush it in the bathroom and if you cant just go between periods...i understand i wouldn't want to get oin trouble either.
try some at home treatments like lemon juice with avacadoes. leaves your hair super smooth and managable:)

    BUT

i am tired of straight hair and want to embrace my waves, because i straigten it like every other day but its Sooo poker straight its kinda annoying. so i want to change it,,, except when i only straighten my fringe it looks realllly odd.

    Straight Hair Styling Tips?

I have super straight hair, that I even straighten more in the mornings before school to get rid of any extra waves.. but i am pretty sick of that style. I never do anything besides leave my hair down because I'm never sure of the possibilites.. i dont even ponytail it because im not sure how to get it how i want it.

anyways: any tips of any kind of styling i could do with my straight hair to make it more exciting?

Any tips would help!Straight Hair Styling Tips?
You can put your hair half up in a ponytail and leave the rest down. It gives kind of a sophisticated look. You can also get a jaw clip and take the top half of your hair, and messily just twist it, and put the clip in. It's messy, yet cute! You can try scrunching your hair, or curling your hair at night so you won't have to do anything in the morning. Putting your hair in a slick ponytail is always chic.Straight Hair Styling Tips?
curl the ends with your straightener, add some hair spray for some volume
    gloss up ur hair
well my sugestion is that youu should play around with your hair such as bangs are really cute with straight hair and curls in the ends that would look so gorgeous on you. :D
put a ';poof'; on your head!

do a messy ponytail... the less perfect, the better

cut your hair shorter, and flip it out

    side ponies are coming back...

use texturizer pomade/wax and ';play'; with your hair

pretty much the idea is working with your imperfections
What you could do is get a really good straightener like a chi, and curl the ends in or out to add a little definition. You can also use the straightner to make your hair wavy. Maybe also you could get side bangs and they will make a lot of different face shapes look really good.

    Salt water for wavy/curly hair?????

was just wondering if mixing salt with water and spraying it onto damp hair then scrunching it really works? has anyone ever tried it and just how well does it work? i have really straight hair but it gets really boring sometimes so i wanted to try wavy or curly hair without curling tongs etc. and i find that some mooses make my hair sticky. my hair waves a lil tiny bit when wet but is esily brushed out, it won't stay. so yeah does this salt water trick work? thanks :)Salt water for wavy/curly hair?????
Erm ive never tried that one!!! It might work! Just go for it!! If not why not try buying a curl enchanching product or you can even try a salt spay, bumble and bumble do one and ive got a toni and guy beach hair spray but it didn't really work that well for me!! If you don't all ready have them try having layers put through your hair as this will encourage natural movement and make your hair less straight!!!!!Salt water for wavy/curly hair?????
Salt water is a good idea. Use sea salt if possible and add it with warm water to one of those plant sprayers. Give it a shake to help dissolve the salt in the water and spay on your hair and scrunch dry - or leave to dry naturally.

My hair always goes mega curly and thicker after swimming in the sea. So this should effectively do the same thing to wavy hair.
i have curly hair and ive tried it and it worked. I add a little it of baby oil in it so it makes my hair less frizzy. I dont know if it'll work on straight hair but give it a try.
Iv never tried that but........you could always plate it. Thats what i do when i dont want to straighting my hair. And it looks nice as well.
Noooooo. I have a friend with hair like that and it doesn't work. She says it just makes it all frizzy and gross.
Using salt water in your hair is like going to the beach it will make your hair really dry.

    How to get wavy hair?

ok so my hair is naturally straight, but i want wavy hair. i try to wave it with my straightener, because it claims that it can wave your hair, but that never works out very well, so how would i make naturally straight hair wavy without using mousse or anything that makes it crunchy? How to get wavy hair?
My hair is naturally wavy but what I do to enhance my natural curls is the nigh before I plan to wear my hair down I wash then I braid my hair into to two sections or pigtails. Then I just leave it like that and go to sleep and in the morning you can carefully undo your braids it and apply a little of styling gel. My personal favorate is Vavoom hold my body styling gel. Hope this helps =]How to get wavy hair?
If your hair is straight, take a small-medium size barrel curling iron and using 1'; - 1 1/2'; sections, hold the ends of the section and wrap it around the curling iron. Don't bother using the clamp, because you want the curls to be more wavy and loose. Once you release the hair, hairspray, and if it is still too much of a curl gently pull the ends of the hair to loosen the curl pattern. Do that all over, spray, and go!

You might also try braiding your hair into five or six braids before you go to bed. In the morning, take them out, spray, and you should have a nice beachy look.

Hot rollers are awesome!! Get them nice and hot before you put them in, and put them in small sections. The more rollers you have in your hair, the better. Leave them in while you get dressed, do your makeup, etc... They need to be completely cool before you take them out. Then take them out, spritz with hairspray, and TA DA!!How can I make my straight hair like this?
put in big curlers and spritz some hair spray on the just a little though and leave them in for a while
just straighten it a lill, not the bottom that much

    then sleeep on it
    hahahahah

    firstt of alll;

your curler is probalyy a piecee of shitt:D

andd thenn you dont braid goooddd.

    hahah.

try using over night curlers with damp hair then blow dry it in the morning so it looks loose
    ewi hate miley

anyway she wears fake extensions. her hair is normally a puff ball. :)
Well since Miley Cyrus is a celeb. She gets hers done a regular basis. Which prob. makes her hair naturally like that. So I'd have to say go to a stylist.

    :)

    Good luck though.
....why would you want to look like Miley Cyrus?!
    right.

put a shine serum through your hair while its wet, blow dry it, then you need to LOOSELY curl the bottom of your hair, then run your fingers through it to make it looser, then curl the rest of your hair, with slightly tighter curls, then run your fingers through that as well. then put some hairspray on, but dont spray downwards if you spray upwards it gives your hair more volume, and looks more natural :)
straigten it al little and then curl it with the straitners so it is subtle and nice. curl it in odd bit's and places.

i that doesn't work then i think that that is her natural hair.
well her hair looks pretty bad in both of those pictures..but I would say use rollers and holding spray and sit under the hair dryer to let the curls set.
wow you have hair like Miley cyprus aka Hannah Montana well the best thing for you honey is get really thick curling tongs or go to a professional stylist and tell them and they might reccomend the best curling for your type of hair hope this helps or before you curl them add some moose into your hair as this will hold it like hair spray
sleep with little buns in your hair.

    works for me.
when you have washed your hair and they are a little bit wet do up two little piggy plaits and leave them overnight

open up in the morning and then they will be like that
Well there is a way you can make your hair look like Milly Circus you take a curling iron curl it and at the bottom hold it then when you let go of it spray it with a lot of hair spray and you will be good to go.
Ok you should take Advantage of the beauty of the straught hair and as you already know that it takes time to fix it and get it preaty . you could get the permanent or take the time to curl it or get you a nice hair cut. :) Ok not a hair cut but you have to take the time to use the curling iron I know that it takes time because i have long hair too and i use it and it takes abut an ahour and you must use some hairspary Oh and do not use a hairdrayer when you wash it.

the best form of permanent hair straightening that ive found is japanese thermal reconditioning/straightening. the pain in the butt part is that you have to have a cosmetologist license to buy it and do it yourself, or pay to get it professionally done (its not cheap). its definitely worth it though. i have super curly frizzy hair and my hair was super soft and silky with this treatment, even through humidity. hope this helps a little!

open the braid and u will get nice sexy waves

then apply a hair spray to hold ur hair

How do I get my hair to stay straight and up?

I'm a guy with hair that curls slightly, and some waves on one side. I have thick hair but if I use gel it gets curly and limp, anything with water makes it fall down. My friend has straight hair, and his hair will go from flat to spikes in about 3 seconds and a dab of gel..my hair goes from poofy to crazy curls and its totally different looking when dry.

If I wear a hat it flattens and I'll push it back and it'll stick up..and bedhead looks cool..sometimes..what makes hair limp? And what makes it stay in shape? I tried not washing it for a day and it gets oily shiny..and kind of in the middle. Is there any shampoo that adds something to your hair to make it shape better naturally?

My hair likes to stay close to my head, and when I blow dry it, it poofs out..

It's annoying to have hair that I need to blowdry every morning..are there any shampoos for this? Conditioners do absolutely nothing but make my hair feel heavier and give me big shiny curls..How do I get my hair to stay straight and up?
I have heard that you can get your hair chemically straightened, but yeah, like you, when my hair grows long, it gets wavy, so i just use my sisters hair straightener, and it stays straight for the whole day, and even the next, but if you have a shower, then your hair will go back to being curly againHow do I get my hair to stay straight and up?
Don't get your hair chemically straightened.. it looks great until you start getting curly roots and you have to let it all grow out before you get it done again xxx
Well.... I have similar problems with my hair, as it is pretty curly, and if your hair is long enough, I would recommend getting a ceramic straightener for your hair, you can get a decent one to do the job for 20-30 bucks. Make sure it is ceramic though, because it will be less damaging for your hair. Straightening is FAR better than blow drying, it won't make it puffy. Also, I know pantene makes a good shampoo to help keep hair straight, and I have also used straightening gels in the past, but in general, clean hair is just fine too, esp. if your using the straight shampoo! Don't even bother trying to straighten your hair on a humid or rainy day tho, it's completely useless---all your hard work will go to shame!!!!!!! Good Luck!!! Our hair is difficult to manage, I know!!

Male has issues with poofy/wave hair trying to keep straight. Questions..?

I am a male, and I currently have hair to the tops of my shoulders and currently flat iron it and use some product like matte, heat protect spray, leave in straightening gel when I shower, and hair spray to keep it in place.

I have hair, that curls a lot at the ends, so somtimes, unless I flat iron it all, the ends curl straight up and point forward, and look horrible Its not long enough where the curl wont really matter, such if it was past my shoulders.

I am looking to grow it until it is just about shoulder length.

Also when I put it into a pony tail, a lot of times it will keep itself in that curl/wave once I take out the hair tie so I will need to straighten it again to get out that area where the tie was.

And if I shower and air dry it, and wake up , its a horrible poofy mess. It wont dry straight at all, even with straight gel in it. Its so bad poofy I cant leave the house, the hair is in every direction. Even after I blow dry, its a huge poof and looks bad.

Wondering if anyone else has these issues and what I can do? Id love to just air dry it and have it stay long and straight. Im not sure how all these girls /guys have their hair looking perfect, straight and I cant get mine to look good.

I have a nice straightener that is a wet dry, so somtimes I use the low heat to dry it and then part each peice into sections and put it up with clips and then redo the hair higher heat to straighten once its dry.Male has issues with poofy/wave hair trying to keep straight. Questions..?
one thing i can suggest is to save up and get your hair chemically straightened. you wont have to worry about it at all then. you can just blow dry it to flow in the way you want it. its just so much easier.
