How to make straight hair wavy?

My hair is naturally straight, and it flips outward at the ends. Although it is very easy to style it when I want it straight, i would also like a bit of variation. I love the beachy wave look, and I was wondering the easiest way to get wavy hair (and make it stay!). My hair is somewhat thin and down 5 inches below my shoulders. It also doesn't curl very well with a curling iron. How do I make it wavy (and hold throughout the day) without the super hairspray-y crunchy-y stiff look?

- After you exit the shower, towel dry your hair until it's damp.

- Apply some mousse, or curl enhancing product if you have it.

- While still wet, put them into braids.

- Leave them like that overnight.

- In the morning, carefully undo the braids without breaking up the waves.

- Apply a bit more mousse and just scrunch it in. Make sure you don't break up too many of the waves, and definitely don't brush it or it'll go frizzy!

- Lock in the waves with a medium hold flexible hairspray, eg Bedhead Masterpiece, Tresemme Extra Body. Don't use the hard, freeze ones or your hair will become stiff/crunchy.

My hair is naturally straight too, this is what I do to get nice waves for a day. :)How to make straight hair wavy?
take a shower at night and braid your hair..

if you have tight braid youll have crimpyish looking hair and the looser you braid it the looser the waves.

:]
To get the beach wave look with straight hair, it may have to be a little crunchy but that's okay don't worry it won't be totally that way! Simply take a moose and a gel.... spread them both evenly throughout your hair and make sure they are specifically for sculpting or just like hold or whatever. Scrunch this product throughout your hair..... simply by pushing and squeezing hair in an upward direction.... until you create waves. Then add just a little hairspray for hold... and finally when it's dry do some curling in places where it was limp and some wavy places as well... but only leave the iron on for a couple seconds for a soft look that isn't spiral curly.
when your hair is wet, either braid it or put it up in a bun..this generally works out well for me.
