How do I get Extremely straight hair to curl?

ok i have really straight hair and it never holds curls. i got a perm when i was little and it didnt work then i got another when i was 14 and it didnt work either. i want to get a kinda loose perm like a body wave done but im scared to spend the money on it if it doesnt perm.

my mother made a good point that it could work because im almost 20 now and done with like puberty and stuff.

what should i do??How do I get Extremely straight hair to curl?
I use AG re:coil... it's a curl activator... that along with a diffuser... and your hair will look like it's naturally curly. Hope this helped... xoxoHow do I get Extremely straight hair to curl?
scrunch it
I think you should go to the place where you get it permed.

tell them about your situation and they'll probably deal with it.
I would suggest buying some curl enhancing cream and putting it on your hair after you wash it.

Then, curl your hair with a curling iron once its dry.

If that works, then great! If it doesn't you might want to talk to your hair stylist about a body wave. If he or she thinks it would mess up your hair, don't get it done. However, if they think it would help or work, go for it! If it doesn't do anything to your hair, you can always get it corrected for free or for a discount. That's what hair stylists are for--they want you to be happy--so don't worry about the money wasting thing. If the hair stylist thinks it won't work, they'll tell you, believe me! They don't want you to walk away hating your hair because then you'll never come back and that's how they lose business.

Try the curling iron first, and then go to your hair salon.
Its all about trial and error, if it doesnt work, you will know for next time not to do it. My hair is the same and it held it when i was 21
either BODY WAVE not a perm... there are MANY different size rollers... thats what matters but you say perm they think Kerri Russell... but if you have long hair it can be costly... or after you get out of the shower braid it or put curlers in it and use an curling iron after it dries
My friend has pin straight hair and under no circumstance does it curl, but one day we put her hair in curlers over night and it has a small wave to it and then we scrunched it by spraying scrunching hair spray in it and it became curly here is a picture of it. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j214/I鈥?/a>
Perms have come a long way since you were 14. I say perm.

I've been a licensed cosmetologist for thirty years.

Hope this helps.
I noticed you said that you want a loose perm like a body wave... errr.... body wave is not a loose perm at all, they are very very tight curls that make your hair look like a poodle... if you want your hair to behave and be manageable and healthy looking, I would suggest not getting one. your best bet is to start buying hair products that promote curls, but if your hair is super straight, short of leaving curlers in your hair every single night and training your hair, you may never be able to go curly. Try volumizing products if your hair is thin and straight.
my hair its like urs it was a dream of seeing it curly this way may help you..after wetting ur hair put some gel on it and start gathering every tuft and buckle it leave it like this untel its drained before you loose it heat it well with the hairdrier then see how beutiful it would be
