How to get waves in straight ';Asian'; hair?

I've used same method for a while now.

But I want to do it more easily.

I can't just ';scrunch'; my hair with my hands and actually have the waves stay in.

I was told by a friend to put in mousse first then use that Aussie Sprunch product.

I've used Sprunch before without mousse. Didn't work.

I don't wanna go buy Sprunch if it won't end up working for me.

Has anybody (with same hair type) ever tried putting in mousse after hair is wet, and THEN using sprunch in hair and had it work? How to get waves in straight ';Asian'; hair?
I have asian hair too.. it's so frusterating. even when i use mousse to scrunch it after alittle while it turns back straight

this worked for me, but i have to leave it in all night. try it i promise you it will work!! it made beautiful waves for meHow to get waves in straight ';Asian'; hair?
yeah, but yo hair looks all gross and we tthe whole day. I don't suggest it. If you want natural looking wavy hair, you can sleep with your hair braided and let it out in the morning. It works for me, then hairspray or mousse it, but don't overdo it

we dont want it to look fake!

p.s. i'm 3/4 vietnamese.:)
I agree with the first answer. I'm only half asian, but I have asian hair. My hair never holds a curl [made by heat]! So I like to braid my hair at night to get natural beachy looking waves, and to hold them in in the day, I use an anti-humidity hairspray.

I haven't tried the Aussie Sprunch thing, but I want to. I don't know if it'll work for me though.

Good luck (:
I agree with everyones answer sleep with your hair braided.. or even try when your hair is wet put it in a bun, then take it out and run your fingers through it.
