How to make short hair curl more consistently? (with pics)?

I'm a guy growing out my hair. Its down to the bottom of my face when straight, but not quite when curly.


My hair's wavy, but not curly.


I wish I could just let it dry, but it always looks terrible, so I have to blow dry it.





I used to straighten it with my old hair style, but it doesn't look good with how my hair is now.





Whenever I blow dry my hair, it ends up being pretty straight at the very top, and then having a big curl or wave only at the very end or tip of my hair, and it bugs the **** out of me.





Any tips on preventing this? Everything I read says I should comb my hair and do a bunch of other stuff while I blow dry it, I can't comb my hair, or it makes the curl go to the very end and looks horrible.








I'd like tips to both make my hair straighter, and to make so my whole hair waves, and not just the very end.





Will it do this less when it's longer, btw?

Here's a link to my myspace pics. my hair is the most recent pics. In the newest and a few of them I straightened just the tip to get rid of the curl, but I don't like doing that, plus if it curls too much it curls more after I only straighten the tip.





Also, if anyone has any suggestions on hair styles that'd be cool.
