A friend recently suggested that I get a body wave to achieve this hair style. I have VERY fine, thin, stick-straight hair, and it's almost impossible for my hair to hold a curl. I've had a few bad perms in my life (HAHA) and I've read that a body wave is basically a toned down perm. I've heard millions of times about how my hair would be impossible to layer because of it's ';thinness'; and the look I'm trying to achieve just will not work with my hair type. Is this true? Is a body wave really the answer to my problem? Do most salons offer body waves? Any other suggestions?Would a body wave for hair be the best way to achieve this look?
Honestly, the best way to get the look in the picture is to get the same hair piece(s) the model is wearing. To get that same fullness in very fine or thin hair, there's nothing wrong with going for extensions or wigs, etc. You can always remove them but if you get a bad haircut or chemical service, going for something that won't work, you're pretty much stuck with it. For the BEST advice visit a good salon for a consultation, which SHOULD be free. Let them know what look you're going for, they can examine your hair, scalp and porosity and determine what will work best for you. We're basically giving you advice without actually seeing your hair which can steer you in the wrong direction. I hope this helps you out. Good luck.Would a body wave for hair be the best way to achieve this look?
A body wave doesn't sound like a bad idea for your hair. A lot of girls I know that have bone straight hair usually try the quick wavy method which is applying mousse to wet hair and flipping your hair over your face and giving it a few comb throughs with your fingers and of course just style it how you want it. This seems to work well for some girls.
The only bad thing about perms and body waves is that it kinda fries your hair. I think you should try it out but definitely tell the beautician exactly what you want.
if your hair is as thin and straight as you made it sound, consult with your stylst about all the pros and cons. very very thin fine hair sometimes just cant hold a perm of any sort... i had a friend with very fine thin hir try to perm her hair endless times, and every time it fell out with in days (the perm i mean, NOT her hair!)
Ummm, I really don't know much about hair. Good luck with that issue though...
