How would you get beachy waves with straight hair?

Would you use like a wave perm?

I don't want it too curly just like loose natural looking curls//waves. But the thing is... I want it permantely. so i don't

have to braid it or anything. thanks so much. oh and pictures would help soooo much tooo. How would you get beachy waves with straight hair?
use a really big curling iron.

probably 1 1/2 inch or 2 inch, depending on what your hair will hold. I'd go for the 1 1/2 inch, and if that dosent work, try 2 inch. Just curl the parts you want some wave too- im guessing from about your ear down.

if you want to go for a easier way/faster way, most people have some type of curl in their hair. When your hairs wet, put moose in it, flip your head over and scrunch it with your fingers. (Put your fingers in a bear claw, then push up onto your scalp while squeezing your hair) After you scrunch let it dry. Dont touch it, or it wil get frizzy. When its dry you can use the curling iron in one or two places just to give it more wave or touch it up.

oh, and the girl above me- its called a diffuser. How would you get beachy waves with straight hair?
its a quick and easy morning routine but idk how permanent it is -- its easy though and its the next solution besides perms

:: Gell %26amp;%26amp; moose when wet -- scrunch then take a hair drier and attach to the nozzle one of those like scruncher things ahh i cant remember the word =( umm ask someone at your hair salon or local beauty store they will be able to tell you what they are called -- anyways you attach that to your hairdrier and just scrunch and hold it to that area of hair it takes about 7-10 minutes depending on how thick your ahir is and VOALA you'll have awesome beachy waves -- braids are also a good solution but can be a hassle so just wear them while you can because i have friends taht have done the braid thing for a couple of years and now their hair is naturally superr wavy =) hope this helps
